A tall guy once asked why I wasn't intimidated by him (ie his height). I just looked at him, "At my height, most of the world is taller than I am. If I got intimidated by everyone who's taller than I am, I'd spend my life scared. Pffft."

And don't piss off the person who delivers your mail. Because they will look for & find everything wrong with your box that makes it illegal/borderline/just makes mail undeliverable. They will enforce every petty little rule that makes you getting your mail without considerable trouble & expense to you just not possible.

I heard about one mail carrier that got really upset at one house (I don't remember the reason but I think it involved animal cruelty, & he loved dogs) and he suddenly noticed that they did not have a federally approved mailbox. So he reported it & refused to deliver mail until they got one that was.
I'm sorry, the person to whom you were speaking has been replaced by a recording. Please leave your message at the sound of the beep.

I prefer to describe my tiny friends as 'fun sized.' At 4'9 and 110lbs, J does not take shit from ANYONE. Personally, I would've paid money to put her in your shoes, Aethian. Her response would've been much more violent and the SC would've been running back to his house, sans testicles.

          Good on ya.
          Some people are like slinkies,
They don't really serve a purpose,
But they still bring a smile to your face
When you push them down the stairs.

This is true I'll tell you what I did to one jerk last year. I will point out that I was 100% completely within the laws to do this. And this guy is one of the biggest jerks I've ever had to deal with.
Jerk wanted a 2nd box and wanted to forward just his mail from his old box to the new box. This was all within the same office. Now, for whatever reason, you aren't supposed to forward just one name from a box (don't ask me why) but since there is a workaround that includes closing the box, forwarding the one guy and then re-opening the same box for the rest of the family to continue to use, the boss figured why go to all that work for what was essentially the same thing as just forwarding the one name.
So she does him this favor but she still needs to have all the same information when you open a new box. It's a requirement and not something she is able to waive, hell, her own mother would have to provide this information.
Jerk didn't like this despite the fact that he wasn't being kept from using the box, he just didn't "feel like it". What does he do? He lodges a complaint saying that she's "making it difficult on him because she didn't want the extra work" They basically slap him down telling him she's right, go back and give her the info she needs.

All this after she does him a huge favor.

I find out about this and I'm thinking ok, doesn't want the extra work? I can play that game. A forward in the same office is usually just hand forwarded. Makes sense. Not for this guy. To prove that we were quite fine with the "extra work" any mail that we normally would have hand forwarded (put directly into his new box) was instead sent back to distribution through the forwarding process to have the little yellow sticker put on it and sent back. Since this is how a forward works, that is what he got. As he was complaining one day about something he was waiting on I just smiled.

This reminds me of a trip to the Post Office.

I got one of those orang-y post cards telling me to p.u. a package from them. So I get in line, and in front was this woman with a package to send off. Now there are 2 people working, and they were both black, but one kept on calling on the people with orang-y post cards. So all these people are passing up the woman. She complained she was waiting for 20 min. Then she said, "You people (arn't working, are making me wait, something like that)." Anyway, the two women working go "huh, you people. And the woman gets embarrassed, since I think she meant "you Post office workers" then anything race related. I'm always thinking "you people" when SC show up at the library, as in "you people/you SCs". But anyway, I might be wrong by what she meant.
Time! Time! Time is what turns kittens into cats.

Don't teach me a lesson; all I learn is that you are an asshole.

                I wish porn had subtitles.

Who cares if you swore. I'm sick and tired of wimpy twits ... "oh my gosh, you used a bad word after I insulted you and asked you to do illegal/unethical things!"
That's why my boss doesn't like me dealing with customers. I'm his best worker in the workshop, so he wants to keep me around, but... I show people the respect I'm shown, and am willing to be fired (or quit) rather than stop doing it. It's ok when dealing with normal customers, but he gets the most amazing complaints about me from SCs...

Hehe. One of the stores down our area of my mall, a Staff Member from another cell phone store came into our store to chat with us after he got absolutely hammered for swearing back to a customer that swore at him. I mean from the way he described it (nobody else in the store but another staff member and the SC) it seemed justified, but apprently he got really hammered about it and was afraid he would lose his job over it.
