  • A Robbery and a Jerk

I am still shaking as I write this.

There was a robbery in my store. I have never experienced it before. I work at the "good side of town." I will not give much details about the robbery, but I witnessed the entire thing.

I saw my LP officer get hurt. The men who robbered the place beat him up horribly. He was rushed to the ER.

I was working register at the time. When the robbery took place I stopped and stared. I was too frozen to do anything. I was just so scared! After the men took off after beating my coworker. I, immediately, get this lovely repy...

SC: *meanly* Miss, will you work!!!

My coworker could have died. He could have been dead for all we knew, and this son of a bitch needed his precious soda...

    Oh. Good. God.

I hope your co-worker is okay! And that they catch the guys! And they get a good karma kicking as well. I hope you're all right!

      Try to fly, omg!

Take a deep breath hun! Deep breath! If you have not done so already write down EVERYTHING you saw, including (if you can) descriptions of the people that robber the place, and their car/how they got away.

I'm sure I'm repeating the obvious but just trying to help!

You did the right thing! I know it doesn't feel that way, but your reaction was NORMAL. Those who act the hero often get hurt themselves!

Make sure you have a hot bath, and I'll send over some hot chocolate and choc chip cookies!

      HUGS!

That made me think of a cartoon vision of the customer tottering out of the store with the silhouette of a soda bottle sideways in his mouth, the cap ballooning out one cheek, the base, the other. Thank you sir, we appreciate your f#$%ed up, unempathetic business! I'd be too busy securing the place, summoning authorities, and tending to the injured person to hear such sniveling. Same goes if I was a customer.

I've been robbed at knifepoint before; one has no idea what it is like until it happens. Don't feel guilty that you froze, odds are doing anything else would have worsened the outcome. Hang in there, it'll get better. Hug the people who matter.

Don't be hard on yourself, if you had gone to his aid and you didn't know what you were doing you could have made things worse for him and got yourself hurt.

I assume the police have taken a witness statement from you, if they haven't volunteer and give one.

I would have shoved that bottle of soda pop up a different orfice.

I am so sorry this happened to you. I can't completely relate, but I remember how it felt when two men were on a robbing spree of smaller gas stations and the night I saw the vehicle that the news and radio had been claiming was the suspected vehicle.....and when the car returned a few nights later when my CW was working.....nothing ever happened either time, but we were both scared to death at the very thought!

I hope your coworker is alright!

                        My Condolences, Try to Fly.

In my case, when I was working at a LCBO (Provincial Liquor/beer Store) Outlet, I ended up having to Stare down a thief with a bowie knife with the Store owner's Shotgun. After that was over with (30 minutes into my shift no less) I clocked out and got a 3-day leave of absence with pay. I liked my boss at the time.

Anyhow, I hope you're doing okay, that your Store's LP guy has a complete recovery, and that the Jerkwads that robbed your place get a visit by a bunch of Burly men in prison orange.

As for the SC( or as i think of them, living ), well, If he wanted his soda that bad, I bet someone would have made him walk away with a very funny stance, and a look on his face of both pain and embarrassment. Or, at the least, a visit to the

That is one of the scariest things a person can deal with. I am so sorry and I hope your co-worker gets better soon.

I was robbed at work too. Not long ago. It's difficult to walk back through those doors when you absolutely have to be there the next day.

I hope both you and your co-worker is okay.
