He won the prize. I'm 17 years old, its crazy busy, and there's a coupon that has restrictions on the back.
He wanted me to apply the coupon to this pair of shoes that were excluded.
I wouldn't do it. I technically could but management tracked who inappropriately applied coupons.
It literally took TEN minutes (I was watching the clock) to get a manger down to me because it was so busy.
I called several times desperately seeking any help because for the entire 10 minutes I had to endure that man insulting me to kingdom-come.
"I'm very important, you're keeping me from X appointment!!!"
"I don't know how you live with yourself"
"You can't do a simple thing, why do they hire people so stupid"
"You're going to lose your job I'm going to have you fired"
"I hope you need help and no one helps you"
etc.
As soon as the manager got there the man was suddenly all quiet and "fine okay, whatever" and left.
By then i was in tears and the couple behind him were handing me tissues.
It wasn't so much the individual comments so much as the extended duration of bashing that broke me.
My manager apologized for taking so long. He said he could hear how strained i sounded and got there as soon as possible. It was probably the "plllllllleeeeeeaaaaasseeee" that i pathetically wailed at the last.
Bottom Line: The guy was a frequent scammer whose MO was to bully cashiers into giving him what he wants before a manager can arrive. So at least i got props for holding out.
