I went back to work Thursday night. It was about 3am, one of the female aides went in to get his blood pressure and she almost instantaneously, comes back out and asks for someone to accompany her back in. Why? we ask. Well, it seems as soon as she stepped in the room, he started BEGGING her to be able to hold her breasts.
So, in the greatests torture we could devise, myself and two other girls who had the largest breasts on that shift, went in to lecture the patient about what he was doing and saying was wrong. I dont think he knew where to look first. LMAO
LOL. j/k..we didnt do it on purpose, but the 3 largest breasted girls, myself and the aide included, ended up going back in there to make sure he behaved while anyone was in there. Basically as backup and to watch his hands.
ETA: He got a nice visit from Security on Friday morning about respect. He was actually behaved Saturday night. We'll see about tonight.
Habanero oil in a squirt gun. Take pot shots at Mr. Winky if you catch it out, and I can promise he'll stop that quick. After the screaming, that is.
The Rich keep getting richer because they keep doing what it was that made them rich. Ditto the Poor.

Maybe have a security guard stand at the door when a nurse goes into the room? If he asks why, tell him there's been reports of sexual harassment on this floor and they have to accompany all nurses... If he gets the idea that there might be some kind of trouble with the LAW, he might stop.
Either that or have someone with a video camera at the door, same reason (although that may lead to a problem with patient confidentiality...).

Why wasn't security called the very first time he did this?
If he's not mentally ill, developmentally challenged or otherwise mentally affected by age then he knows what he is doing, he knows that it is wrong, and he knows that he should not be able to get away with it.
This bull about it "calming" him is just his way of being able to get away with him, since he's so ill people will likely let it slide.
Heeeeeeeeeell no.
Not properly putting your foot down, drawing boundaries and outlining the consequences right off the bat will only result in people continuing the behaviour.
Every time someone says "no" after he got away with it the first time he's going to call their bluff because he's already gotten away with the behaviour.
My suggestion would be to call security every single time he does it, every single time he makes an inappropriate comment, you name it.
When security gets there stand in his room and say, "You wanted an audience? Here's your fucking audience."
Leave, close the door behind you and let security have a chat with him, then when security leaves go back in and tell him, "They'll be visiting you each and every time you decide to act up. Every. Time."
Then shut the door behind you as you leave.
Sure he's ill, but that's not a free pass to treat people like this.

Youre absolutely right.
But we cant.
Care to ask why?
B/c security WONT do this. If we call them everytime, WE will be the ones to get in trouble.
They barely come when we call them for physically dangerous, much less some 80 yr old jerking his gherkin.
He has been spoken to. Every single person has told him it was inappropriate. Apparently the facility he lives in allows him to do this so he doesnt get agitated. And short of physically or chemically restraining him, what can we do? I asked my manager that and she looked at me like I was crazy. IDK. Its part of the job of guess. It doesnt bother to the point where I come home and cry..it just gets old real fast.
