      I used to use Tolkien runes (taken from The Hobbit) to write my social studies notes. I had to make up a number system to go with.

        Hmm, there is apparently an official series of numeric Tolkein runes. I forget which base they're in, but you can ignore excess digits if you want to simplify.

        There are also official and semi-official methods of writing English in runes. So the question is, should you use the written runes (ie. cursive form) or the engraved ones?
