Ok, so I work in a bowling CENTER (They get real touchy if you say alley.) Aside from the normal annoyances i.e. I need a pop and fries *we have many different sizes and types of each.
Today kind of took the cake, so to speak. We have had a tournament this weekend, which means there is no room for open bowlers. A smart person would have called ahead to see if there were lanes available today, but no.. these women. These uppity/snooty women come in, who have been here before.. when there are tournaments and no lanes available.. OY!!
They don't bother to stop at the front counter, they come into the bar to have a 111th birthday celebration.. about 20 mins into their celebration, one of them decides to go to the front counter to see where their lanes are going to be. The GM kindly tells them that there are no lanes available because, while it appears half the lanes are available, we have a league tonight.. so there are NO lanes available until approx. 5 pm, when the tourney is done.
The ringleader decides this is unacceptable and storms away.. to the snack bar.. TO THE SNACK BAR. What am I going to do about there being no lanes for them to bowl? Nothing. I am the snack bar manager. If you have a complaint about the food, yes.. I can help you. No lanes till 5? Sorry, that's not my deal.
I think what irked me the most, besdies the fact that they had been here before when a tourney was happening, was that these were kids ages 14-19 bowling for college scholarships. And these women had a full-on-no-holds-barred HISSY FIT about not being able to bowl. Really? Because you turning 111 is SO much more important than scholarships to college, right.. UGH! It's a good thing I like my regs..
