out of curiosity can a company refuse to allow the bbb to issue them a rating?

Hmm, that's a good question. I've been looking through their site, but I can't find anything.

BBB issues Reliability Reports on all businesses, whether or not they are BBB accredited. Your business can have no rating, and not even show up on their website, until there is a complaint. However, once there is a complaint, a rating will be issued.

i mean ... i'm ADHD and leave things behind. a lot. but... i've never left my LUGGAGE behind in the overhead compartment.

between my husband and myself (and me carrying two diaper bags one infant in carrier and attending one toddler with my purse et al) we once left a video camera on a plane and didn't realize this until two weeks later. the camera was found in italy (wish they had taken video ) and returned to us. it happens however i tend to agree... i wouldn't want someone so careless working my innards either! btw- speaking from a consumer point of view i wouldn't want anyone to take my card (for a purchase that large especially!) without id... DUH!

Either they were scammers or just complete idiots.

I have a one man business. Shortly after I started I got a call from the local BBB saying they had had an inquiry about me. I had not been in business long enough to qualify for BBB membership, which costs $300.00 a year. I got the impression from that, and from other postings on this forum, that there is nothing the BB can do if you're not a member. And little they can do if you are.
