This happens in a lot of hobby and craft forums. There's a cake decorating forum that I used to participate in that got notoriously bad for people having that whiny, giveme, butterflies and kisses, hold my hand, EW crap. Most of the knowledgeable, helpful and experienced people left around the time I did because we got sick of the shit.
