Actually, we have yellow plastic ones with blade covers. You squeeze the handle to unlock the cover and it unlocks the cover until you stop cutting. The second you stop cutting or if the blade slips it automatically locks again. (I hope I explained that ok)

Keep in mind an electron microscope will probably sterilize the SC, so make sure it is used for a long time.
