You aren't kidding! I once bussed at one of those "buffet" type restaurants, and Sunday after Church was the most hated time of the week - I never could understand why all the supposedly "Good church-going people" turned into raving, ranting, frothing-at-the-mouth SC-zillas the minute they left the church parking lots.
For those of you serving the after-church SCs, if the SCs appear to mostly come from one church, maybe you could speak to the pastor/priest/whatever of that church, describe his flock's behavior and suggest he make their behavior the subject of his sermon the next week.

The Ten Commandments of Restaurant Patronage (from the Old Menu).

    I. Thou shalt not seat thyself.
II. Thou shalt not ignore the wait staff.
III. Thou shalt not change thy order once it hath been delivered.
IV. Thou shalt not tip thy waitress less than 20%.
    V. Thou shalt not let thy offspring run amok.
VI. Thou shalt not leave a messy table, nor trash upon the floor.
VII. Thou shalt not be loud in thy conversations.
VIII. Thou shalt not use thy cell phone while the wait staff taketh thy order.
IX. Thou shalt not demand a discount, for any reason.
    X. Thou shalt not be rude to the wait staff.

And I give unto you also an eleventh commandment (from the New Menu).

XI. Thou shalt not make a pass at the wait staff.

Permission granted to whomever to print these upon the Sunday menu (or any day's menu).

The worst were the people on Sundays who left religious tracts that looked like money as a tip. Jerks.

Oh how obnoxious that must be. I've found those stuffed into non-Christian religious books in the bookstore. They say something like "Disappointed? You wouldn't be if you had JESUS!"

I'm thinking that I know quite a few devout Christians that could really use that $5 or $10 that would, indeed, be quite disappointed.

Three of us couples went to a chain pancake place early today (Sunday). One of our party was a guy who's really full of himself and who thinks he's funny when he's really just annoying. Waitress took our orders, the last woman ordered with all the options mentioned (which sides, which kind of toast, how she wanted her eggs, etc). The waitress said "Perfect!" at which point Mr. Not-Hilarious piped up "Wait, how come my order wasn't perfect? Did I order something bad tasting?" She looked right at him and said "No, you were just indecisive" in a tone that shut him right up and made the rest of us roar. We had 3 checks, I gave her a big tip and wrote "Great service!" on the check.
Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the restraints...

THIS! This is exactly what the card said -- I've gotten these before, they're designed to look like a real bill folded in half x.x But that's a "tip complaint", so I'm gonna stop there; that's why I love our dear ol' Fratching dot com ^_^

Wasn't there something in the prior set of commandments about not lying? >_>

Please - I didn't mean to "lump together" anybody, what I meant was all the church-going folks who acted like assholes towards me and my coworkers, right after they had been in church. Them ONLY, not the rest of those who follow that religion. Am I forgiven? I'll even give you some chocolate!!!

LOL...you're forgiven, and I can't have chocolate, I'm a diabetic. I understand that "church culture" has strayed from the love the Gospel preaches, that's why I am a non church Christian; I pursue my relationship with Christ individually and don't go to any church function larger than a Bible study. I just get tired of feeling like we all get lumped together. I wasn't seriously taking offense, just trying to point out that all of us are NOT alike.

Same here. I have some relatives who gasp and faint over this, but that's really their thing and not mine. I make my own decisions when it comes to that sort of thing.

Besides, my thoughts on religion are quite simple -- I don't tell anyone else what to think/whom or what to believe or not believe, and I don't allow others to do so to me. Simple ^_^

I used to think it was all just post-service church folks on Sundays, but after a few Sunday late breakfasts/lunches out and about, it seems Sunday is the ideal day to go out to breakfast or lunch with the family. And for some reason, for most people, a day to act like a royal ass and not care.

I hated, hated HATED Sundays with a passion when I worked as a host and a server. Words cannot describe how much I hated Sunday mornings and early afternoons.

I totally agree with everything you said! I started out in the wonderful world of retail as a waitress/bartender....Still remember the 30 Hells Angels that came into my cafe when i was two days on the job back in the 80's...I could write a book

                          This ^_^

When I was in middle school and high school, our church took part in a Easter Sunday sunrise service. After the service, we'd all go to our Berkins. We called ahead to warn them(a few days before, I thnk). The first year we did this, the manager stopped our leader as we were leaving. Our group of 15-20 teens & adults was well behaved, kept our area clean, didn't harass the servers, and tipped well. He was told our group was welcome back any time. We continued to go there for years, and got compliments on our behavior every time.

I don't understand poor behavior, from anyone. If you're in a large group, behave even better, because you're an extra stress on the staff.

This is a rather prejudiced assumption. Do you know their hearts?
I apologize if I offended you. However it seems like from some of the church going people I know they tend to fall under the "peaceful going" crowd that turns SC the second they enter Berkins.

I'd imagine its the church going crowd that's the worst of it. Especially certain types that go to church to pray for forgiveness for all the wrongs they have done OUTSIDE of that one hour service.... including making life miserable for those around them.
however, it tends to be true, although, as pointed out, not all religious group members act this way. we'd get the post psalm singing crowd at the big green apron; some were nice, others, not so much.

blas and demolition man hit it on the head: some peope chose sunday in particular just to be an ass.

I don't even know what it is about Sunday. It just seemed like Sundays were always way worse than Saturdays, especially in the morning.
