Background: I work at a drugstore on the front cash register. When I get $50's and $100's I mark them with the marker and hold them up to the light to check the watermark. This is store policy. (/end background)
So about an hour ago (I'm on lunch) I had a lady come up to my register on her phone. She hands me a greendot reload card and a $50 and a $5. She pauses her conversation enough to say $50 then goes back to talking.
After I ring up the greendot card I mark the $50 and then hold it up to the light...
SC: you don't have to do that. You marked it.
Me: well counterfeit bills sometimes mark ok.
SC: no they don't!
Me: yea-well I have to do both.
SC to the person on the phone: omg! She just held the bill up to the light!!! *storms away*
Me: *blink blink* *over the intercom* Manager dial <my extension>
I told two managers after the fact and both were like 'she complained you followed policy?'
Bonus:
I had a customer with kids today an one made a comment that reminded me of something that happened a while back.
I don't fully remember the context of the situation, but it probably was when one of my co workers came to help get my line down.
SC cuts in front of a lady with a youngish child (probably about 4 or 5).
Little kid to his/her mom: that lady just cut in front of us.
SC: *explodes in rage at being called out*
