I would have towed the car in a heartbeat, but the mall has policies it won't even follow because it doesn't want to 'upset' anyone. We have lots of 'you will be towed' signs and 'no overnight parking you will be towed signs' and 'no handicap tags you will be towed signs.'...And yet, a car can sit in our lots for weeks before we're allowed to contact the police, who have to check to see if it's stolen and who the owner is, then tell us so we can send a certified letter and give them another week to respond before we tow it.
So, in reality, it would have taken over a month to tow that car!

Tow truck right away, possibly after loosening all valve stem caps.
And here's where I have to point out that we don't condone vandalism or other illegal activity on CS. If you're the kind of person that does these things, please keep it to yourself.
Back on topic, how the hell did he get in there?

And I thought what happened to me the other day. When I park my car I like to pull into spaces where I dont have to back out. Had some hosebeast of a woman park her monstrosity suv so close to my door i couldnt open it even a crack and probably would of hit her car if I tried to pull out. As I stood cussing out the driver I see some lady yelling at me to wait a second and she would move. Granted she gave an apology but still. Lol
I have to agree with Gizmo, here -- How is a tow truck gonna get that car out of the way if the cars he's blocked are still there? >_< A powerful enough forklift could move it to somewhere that the Wrecker could reach safely.

Most rowtrucks up in these here waters have a setup where i actually swivels so you can get to it from odd angles. Hook up at a 90• angle, pull it straight, lock it in, sand your done. Bada bing bada boom.

Dead easy.
Most tow trucks over here have a couple of frames with castors on each corner.
Jack up the front wheel, pop it into the frame. Repeat on the other side then just pull the front of the car round. If it's really tight then repeat the process on all four corners and it'll just spin in its own length.

Or... just hook a cable on to it and drag it around to right orientation.
There's no such thing as a stupid question... just stupid people.

My apologies. I wasn't thinking of loosening valve stem caps as vandalism, but I can certainly see your point.

While I understand that you couldn't call a towtruck because of asinine procedure of the mall, if this ever happens again, suggest to the people so inconvenienced that they may wish to call the tow company and see if they can have the car towed for trapping them in.

Oooooo. I like that. I'll carry some tow truck numbers with me from now on!

Personally, I think an exception should have been made for calling for a tow truck right away. In cases were a car may be abandoned in the parking lot, or is parked in a handicapped spot, all it is doing is taking up one spot. In this case, not only was it blocking in two customers, it could very well be considered a traffic hazard, as it is blocking a lane.

More often than not, the number you would want is actually on the signs.

Actually it's better to go directly to management if you need a car towed, as 99% of the places we have our signs up indicating we tow from there neglect to mention that only the owner/tenant/manager of a given property can have cars towed, and for good reason.
As I've had to explain to people many many times who aren't authorized to order cars towed but try to have it done anyway... well,
"If all it took was a phone call to get a car towed, can you imagine what would happen?"
- Hey, it's the guy who cut me off in traffic! I'll have him towed!
- Hey, it's my ex-boy/girlfriend's car! I'll have them towed!
-Hey, I really wanted that space next to the front door so I don't have to walk! I'll have him towed!
Sadly, some people STILL don't get why it takes more than a phone call and license plate number to get a tow truck to do anything
