A man comes to the Uscan with a few things, among them 3 cases of a 24-pack of water we have on sale this week. He's been on the Uscan a few times and EVERY time he says he doesn't know how to use it and I need to do it for him. I was only telling him to come to register 5 because it only had 1 person on line while the other 2 registers had 2 people on line. Well, my mistake. I scan everything and then he gives me coupons. He hands me three coupons for the waters. One problem though: They're all for TWO cases, so I could only use one since he has 3 packs. Here's where the suck begins.
Me: Sir, these coupons are all for two cases. I can only take one of them since you have 3 cases.
SC: Why can't you take these all?
Me: Because the coupons are for two cases each and you only bought 3. If you want to get another I can take two of the coupons. I can't go against what the coupon states.
SC: But the coupons are for individual bottles, not the whole pack. Each one has 24 bottles!
Me: No, they're each for two whole packs, not bottles.
SC: Where does it say that? You must not read English very well.
Me: Right here it says for 2.
SC: Yes, for two of the bottles. Where does it say the coupon is for the whole pack?
Me: Right here in the bold print it says on multi-packs and then 24 bottles are larger in parentesis.
SC: *Denies that it says this* Where is *manager's name*?
Me: She just left. I can get you the person who is here right now.
SC: No, just take them all off! I am going to call tomorrow and speak to a manager about this!
Yeah, you do that. How about you learn to read English and figure out what's on the freggin coupon! This guy is always bossy to the cashier and always find a price or coupon like this to complain about and try to pull one over on a cashier.
And right after him there was a woman that couldn't be bothered to scan her own items either and then gave me several coupons that were for items she didn't buy and also one that expired last August! I did accidently do one though that she didn't have the right item though because the register just asked me to put in the amount for the free item coming off (the coupon was to get 1 free pack of flavored water packets if you bought a 24 pack of water that was different from what she bought) and didn't say the coupon must match previous sale. I'll admit I only read the 24 pack water part though.
On top of this, I got spoken to for not taking a tip from a customer. Ugh, what a day
