    It can always be worse.

A close second was a co-worker that kept not understanding that they way to fix a 5A fuse that keeps blowing is NOT to replace it with a 7.5A fuse.
Hey, just be glad he didn't use a .22 bullet instead.

I believe I saw that one in the Darwin Awards. Great way to shoot yourself in the foot. The "redneck headlight fuse" is probably one reason the automakers switched from AG3 glass fuses to ATC blade fuses (and later to ATM mini blade fuses).

O/T, but I prefer the ATC blade fuses - they're big enough that it's possible to (and some companies make them as aftermarket equipment) make a circuit breaker that plugs into the fuse socket, so if something goes you just need to press the reset button rather than digging out a spare fuse. I'm surprised the big trucking companies didn't object to (and vote with their dollars for manufacturers that weren't the first to make the jump) the switch from ATC to ATM. Field replacement of fuses with breakers would have avoided an incident with a "fast" driver where the previous person who had been assigned the truck had blown the 10 amp fuse for the CB, and replaced it with a 20 amp - and the spare fuse kit was badly depleted, with only a 25 and a 30 remaining.
Any fool can piss on the floor. It takes a talented SC to shit on the ceiling.
