Seriously, look. Don't take this the wrong way, but you might be overestimating just how moist you make Lady Luck.
I think Lady Luck has a restraining order out on him. I hope.

Well, stick a marshmallow in my ass crack and point me towards the camp fire. We may get through this yet.
    Er... what?

Just when you think people can't sink any lower, they break out the jackhammers and start digging. I'm expecting them to hit planetary core any day now.
You are overly optimistic. I'm expecting them to hit Australia
Happiness is the exercise of vital powers along lines of excellence in a life affording you scope.

Please, no, just no. They can all melt in the core before they hit us.

<sigh> Fine, I was just trying to be helpful. But don’t go spreading it around. I have a reputation to maintain.
This made me giggle. No particular reason, other than your own admission that you really do like to be helpful.

        I hope? I mean, you can’t all be halfwits…….right?
You hold on to that. Hold it tight. Don't let it go, even in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

This one's news to me. Maybe it's a western Wisconsin thing?
Fred's mostly a northeastern Minnesota thing. Most of the hams who use it are on the Iron Range (Hibbing, Virginia, Aurora, Babbitt). But a few might be in northern or northwestern Wisconsin area. A few years ago, there were a couple hams in Duluth that used it, but it might have fallen out of use.
"I look at the stars. It's a clear night and the Milky Way seems so near. That's where I'll be going soon. "We are all star stuff." I suddenly remember Delenn's line from Joe's script. Not a bad prospect. I am not afraid. In the meantime, let me close my eyes and sense the beauty around me. And take that breath under the dark sky full of stars. Breathe in. Breathe out. That's all."

Or did you just waddle over to a neighbors’ house and bang your face against their door then gesture wildly at the catalog until they reluctantly agreed to dial for you?

I'm sitting here in my lunch break quietly browsing the fabulous inter-web, and I just gurgled on my drink, that was so funny

To wit, you just asked someone for an autograph through the phone. Which is, telephonically speaking, impossible. Well, at least for the moment. I have no doubt those wizards over at Apple are working on something along these lines right now as we speak. Er, type.
It's already here. Canadian author Margaret Atwood ("The Handmaid's Tale") came up with the idea and used it to sign autographs on a 'virtual book tour'.

I'm in pain reading that last one, seriously, I banged my head on the desk, officially my cat and my kids think I've lost the plot.

                      I'll keep that in mind.

That's really cool! I knew that such a thing would eventually come along, what with all the tablets and other electronic devices booming so much lately. Hell, recently when a favorite author came out with a new book, I pondered whether to buy the hard copy or but it on Kindle, but went with the hard copy so I could have him sign it at the book signing he was doing down here, but wondered when it would be that authors could electronically sign electronic books.

Wonder if Atwood's idea would work on Kindle, or just on tablets....?
