Since my parents aren't having as many guests over, they've just bought the whole meal at Boston Market. It saves Mom from having to cook all day, saves leftovers that aren't supposed to be consumed past five days, not to mention the entire convenience of finding a turkey, cleaning it, stuffing it, thawing it, etc.

Maybe consider a Cornish Game Hen? They aren't too pricey most of the time, much smaller (an entire bird is the size of a couple of normal chicken breasts mashed together) -- You have to deal with the fiddly little bones but they're quite good when done properly. Wrap 'em in foil, add whatever spices you want, and bake. The package probably has recommended cooking times.
Funny you should mention Cornish game hens. That's what we had for Thanksgiving dinner this year. We only had 3 of us here, and hubby's been making them quite often lately anyway.

I almost did the Boston Market thing this year, but finances put the kibosh on that idea, unfortunately.
