    I have so much Coworker Win to fill you in on, but until i get my macbook fixed I just don't have time to tell you it yet. So instead enjoy this Guest win!!!

    A couple checks in to the hotel at a 1am a few nights ago. They called a head to make sure I would be ready for them. So they already have bonus points in my book. I kind of dislike walkins when I'm on shift because it's the middle of the night and I'm usually playing video games, which makes me feel really unprofessional. Plus the heads up let's me prepare all the paperwork to make things go smoothly.

    So the couple arrives, and the first thing the girl does is start asking me about the novel I'm reading. She's a huge fan of vampire novels, not Twilight just real vampire novels, and she's curious about my selection. She had heard abotu the author, but really wanted a real persons opinion. She actually came up to talk about books a few times before going to sleep. Which I loved. I get lonely on Night Shift.

    However, the best part was when I took them down to look at the room. I explained that we charged the same for 1 Double rooms and we do for 2 double rooms so they get two for the price of one. When we get to the room, the guy looks around for a bit, then turns to his girl and says;
    "I really want to make a Fort!" He has a huge grin and his companion is laughing in a "great idea" kind of way.

    They didn't rush me. They didn't complain. They were fun to talk to. Plus who doesn't love an old fashioned Blanket Fort. ^-^

    I actually think the best part of your interaction with this couple, considering the mutual interest the woman and you have in common regarding the vampire novels, is the fact that she did not DEMAND that you give her your book!

      Now I'm curious about which vampire book/author you were reading. Probably not my favorite (Those Who Hunt The Night by Barbara Hambly).

        I was reading the second novel in the Argenau Series. They are paranormal romance. I'm a little embarrassed to admit it. A lot of people think they are just Literary Junk Food.

        But I like them. Plus I've read books 1 and 5 through 12. So I wanted to read those three. Though I'll check out your favorite novel. As it sounds interesting.

        And yeah Mike, sometimes customer's don't understand the concept of "Personal Property."

            Nothing wrong with junk food, literary or otherwise, late at night. That's what late night snacks are *for*

              I had a similar thing happen to me recently. I was waiting in line at a grocery store reading a Carrie Vaughn novel about Kitty the werewolf. It's always good to talk about something interesting at work, I guess.

                Wonderful! Someone else is familiar with one of my favorite obscure authors. Have you read Bride of the Rat God?

                  I think I have read everything by Barbara Hambly, except that I have only read the 7 first Benjamin January books, the fantasy and SF are easily found at speciality book stores in Copenhagen but obscure historical crime novels are more difficult.

                    I love the Argeneau series! Paranormal funny romances are great.

                      Check out Christopher Golden's series... I don't recall the name of the series, but 'Of Saints and Shadows' is the first book
