Hey when I lose my keys, they are never in a "common" place. Twice in the freezer, once in the bathroom, behind the TV. How they get there I have no idea, but never have they been lost on my dresser, or in a pocket. Once they were in my record player, and that one I think that there was foul play.
Did the guy know that he didn't pay, but he thought that it was the phone, not the company? Or was he completely oblivious to the fact that when you don't pay, you don't get sevice? Either way, wow, that's a special kind of ignorance right there.
I know most people dont' believe in them, but I know for a fact whenever I lose a shiny-something or a key, the fairies in my house moved it/them because they think its funny.

Nothing's more aggravating then tearing up the whole house upside down just to find X item in the freezer... or in the back of the dish washer... or OUTSIDE in the plants.

Or if you have an extra 5 1/4" bay slot, you could get one of these devices to transfer cassettes with directly on your PC. I guess ION is going to be making a USB dual cassette deck as well later on this year too.
That's pretty neat, but that's only for use with a desktop . . . which is packed away out in the building until the office is remodeled and I'm not sure if the software would work with Windows98.

I did some rigging and found a 3.5 mm cable among some other cables from one of the stereos (they're used to connect all the components so that they can be operated by the master remote) and, using an adaptor - extended it with my headphone extension cable so it could reach from the stereo in the living room to the desk.

Voila - mic jacks works also as Line-In, and I've already recorded several songs off cassette over the past weekend.

There are times I am so good, I even amaze myself.
