Lesson I've learned about lines & sharp thingys: do not ever EVER EVER cut labels off of fiber optic with a knife.
I am sorry, but the first spontaneous thought in my head after reading that was, "Wow, do you stick forks in the toaster too?" I laughed for a few minutes with that combination of thoughts in my head.

I'm sure I've done something equally stupid in the past, I just don't remember it.

while we have a few real geeks in the house. Who here has ever worked around an LIU. Then find the fiber tech did not clean up well. So you curse him as you pull little pieces of glass out of your skin.

One of my more "experience" techs punched down a phone line using a 110 blade.

Luckily the damage wasn't too bad and I was able to get it working (and it was for the 911 line, too).

(Only the real geeks will get this one).
        Uh, WOW.

Was he too lazy to get the puncher from the damn car? Jeeze!

No, he was too lazy to grab it from my hand, or he didn't really know.

Maybe he asked how are babby formed?
