Everyone might think that Daskinor has it bad with the death of a server, but I had something die on me yesterday that's much more upsetting and detrimental to the organization than a single server dying...
My USB key DIED!!!
I plugged my baby into an infected laptop to download Malwarebytes and get the thing cleaned up, and the key opened up, I saw my files and then BAM! The screen closed down on my and as in a final breath, the pretty blue light on the key blinked out of existence.
I had made the techie's worst mistake. I had trusted in my darling red Verbatim. I had thought that it would live forever (or at least, you know, longer than a year..) so, of course, I didn't have backups of any of the information on it.... including my toolkit.
And, of course, I couldn't just have the one computer on my workstation, no I had to have ******4****** waiting for the ...... actually, not going to go there...
Waiting for healing from my precious memory key.
Now it is dead. Dead, worthless, gone to the great computer desk in the sky.
Please, everyone a moment of silence for my Verbatim 4gb memory key..
.......

..........
Thank you.
I'll spend today mourning, and then tomorrow, I'll be celebrating when my new 16gb !!!!!! key comes in!
