The camera shop next door to my work had an application that was also for a boating shop. Why? The owner dude liked cameras and boats, so he started up a business for each and there was one app.

So my friend goes to fill an app out there, and one of the questions asks what he feels strongly about photography....or boats.

So he writes this pretty eloquent response about photos capturing a moment in time to be treasured later and then at the end adds "Also, boats float on water."
My webcomic is called Sidekick Girl. Val's job is kinda like retail, except instead of corporate's dumb policies, it's the Hero Agency, and the SC's are trying to take over the world.

Rock shop and hair salon. It was a fun place to go, get a geode and perm.

My current place of work (well, one of them) is a print shop. Business cards, invoices, copying, blueprints, etc.

That also used to sell doll clothes.

Another has an IMAX theater, ice cream shop, Jelly Belly store, a Fuddrucker's (burger joint), a free water fountain show and - of all things - a trapeze school.
More entertaining way to let customers test the mattresses? I've been in the store with the IMAX, but not the other one...

That's kind off complimentary.... Gotta do something while you wait for your clothes to wash/dry, might as well give yourself cancer a tan

                      Try a laundromat/hardware store/bait shop combination.

And that's just two blocks from me.

Interesting back story to that combo: owner (family friend) owned the laundromat, a convenience store and a hardware store some years back. He sold the convenience store and kept the hardware store (which at the time was across the street from the store.)

About 3 or 4 years ago now, after failing to find a buyer for the laundromat, he decided to re-open the laundromat (which is around the corner from where the convenience store is located, and also 2 streets over from me) and move the hardware store (which has a bait shop BTW) into one half of the laundromat so he wouldn't have to renew the lease on the hardware store.

As for the former location of the hardware store: it's now another neighborhood grocery store (aka quickie mart.)

I concede that this setup is not so odd; as this place is in the NIU student ghetto, so a base tan for spring break makes some sense.

In the next town over, there's a hairdresser/church (or maybe hairdresser/bible school).

That one sounds quite good. Toss your clothes in the wash, sit back and have a nice coffee and pastry while the machines are running.

We've got several Great Stop locations that have 24 hour laundromats. With free wifi and cable.

Came in quite handy last winter when we lost power and I still had laundry to do. Put the clothes in to wash, go into the convenience store part, grab a cappucino and a pastry, come back and snack and browse on my phone using their wifi while the clothes are going.

Now if they just had a nail salon on site, that would be heaven for me.

There's a taco joint/juice bar combo that I routinely visit, which is a little weird and yet fits so perfectly into this town.

I'm not sure exactly how close the businesses are connected internally, but a local guy runs a hair salon and Vietnamese sandwich shop side-by-side.

And out in the county we have a "Beer Shrine", which is a brewery, pizzeria, and wedding chapel combined.
