I popped the question to my now-fiance on New Years Day while I was spending Christmas/New Years with her and her family, known her longer than I can remember now (I think it has been something like 15 years now), officially been an item for a little over 2 years, though we have only actually met in person twice and spent in total over those two visits, the better part of a month together (For this very reason my parents are more than a little apprehensive, being the kind of people that think "I should try to find someone a little more local than setting my sights on someone half a world away", but when it comes down to it, it is my life, my decision and I want to settle down some time before I hit the big 40 - I'm currently 32. I think that I have at least shown that we are not rushing into things though by the fact that we are not considering actually tying the knot until we have both completed our studies, which currently my fiancee is due to graduate in 2017. )
