Okay this is just getting silly. The game I'm in is at over level 550 (probably over 560 or more as I type this), I have an absurd amount of items and I can't use them because the enemies are STILL dropping like flies.

There were only two under that name; one with no avatar and a private profile; the other with an avatar and no profile set up yet...so I clicked the first one.
I have found that one very lucrative tactic is to use "Raining Gold" when fighting a boss. Assuming people don't just nuke it into oblivion, it's worth well over 10K gold per click against a boss enemy in the mid-200s range. The game I'm in just cleared a boss where we used something like half a dozen of the damn things. ~~ We're in the moneeeey ~ We're in the moneeeey ~ We got a lot of what it takes to get aloooong ~ ^_^Last edited by EricKei; 06-13-2015, 09:59 PM."For a musician, the SNES sound engine is like using Crayola Crayons. Started a new minigame this morning. We got to level 300 in less than half an hour. "Raining Gold" was pretty much always on. At one point my coin total was over 100M... Then I crashed the client.
As for purchases, I've done 3 so far. Small World 2 and expansions, BattleLore: Command and expansion, and Gauntlet."If your day is filled with firefighting, you need to start taking the matches away from the toddlers…” - HM

Heh. I think they all crashed at around 11am Central for a server reset. I was in a level 500 game at the time and it just simply ended. A friend had a 1050-levle game going.
Joined a brand new game from level 1 just after noon, it got up to 100 in less than 15 minutes. Lots of Raining Gold, tho, apparently many, many people don't think to save that for bosses. I did discover one useful thing, tho. Metal Detector/Treasure (increases gold drops from kills) will indirectly increase the yield from Raining Gold (1% of target's gold amount).
For those who are new to this lovely little clickfest, here are some handy tips:
- You can join any game whose current level is no more than ten levels above your best ever. e.g. if your best was level 500, you can jump into any game that's level 510 or lower.
- You don't need to really bother with the nukes and such from the bottom half of the shop menu...Other people will buy and use them. Trust me.
- Just buy a Medics; once you use it, you get another for free in about 5 minutes, indefinitely.
- The armor and weapons unlock a new, better version at ten levels. The improvements are ten times as powerful as the one before. Raise light armor to 10 to unlock heavy armor, then raise that to 10 to get shields (light armor: 1k hp/level; heavy: 10k/lvl, shields: 100k/lvl, etc -- this is important mostly for keeping you alive when offline; Medics/Pump up will usually be enough when you're actually playing it). Same with weapons: AP to 10, then explosive to 10 to get Railgun. Scales the same way. Autofire does the same, but I leave that for last -- When I'm clicking for 35k 6-8x/second, that 3500 auto-hit (even with some levels put into it) is a bit underwhelming.
- If your crew gets a game over (apparently automatic at least once per day), you will be able to buy the special goodies like Raining Gold with tokens based on your prior game levels the NEXT time you join a game. RG is really one of the best ones. Crit is the only thing that permanently improves your crit rate, and when you do crit....dayum. At level 10 Lucky (crit damage), I was hitting for 35k on clicks and 700k on crits
- Those little elemental boosters way down at the bottom are HUGE bonuses. Try to get them all to level 3 ASAP, and your basic click damage should be upwards of 20k pretty quickly. First one's free.

Haul since my last report: Orion: Prelude (hey, it was 50 cents! Watch the first video on their store page, it's great), some Borderlands 2 scenario DLC I was misisng, Evoland, King's Bounty: Dark Side, Little Inferno, Pixel Heroes, La-Mulana, Don't Starve."For a musician, the SNES sound engine is like using Crayola Crayons. My son has bought nine games since Friday, and gave me a copy of Civ III because he already had it and when he bought the Civ bundle Steam automatically turned the extra copy of Civ III into a gift. So, that's two games I have gotten from the sale now. I'm waiting to see if anything else gets marked down...and trying to figure out what I might enjoy the most.

That's it? Just topped level 3200, with 952K damage per click.Quoth lordlundar View PostLevel 1050? lightweight. The one I was in capped out at 1950.

As for spending money, I'm still thinking about Endless Space, maybe some of the Civ V DLC, and After Earth. I want Endless Legends and Age of Wonders III so bad, but my poor video card can't handle them."If your day is filled with firefighting, you need to start taking the matches away from the toddlers…” - HM

Eh, I've heard mixed thing about Endless Space and you're better off sticking to Civ V for a while. After Earth has been defined as a Civ V space mod and it's not unfounded.Quoth Crossbow View PostAs for spending money, I'm still thinking about Endless Space, maybe some of the Civ V DLC, and After Earth. I had figured Beyond Earth (After Earth wasn't accurate) was Alpha Centauri mapped to the Civ V engine, where Endless Space is an interstellar 4X style...Quoth lordlundar View PostEh, I've heard mixed thing about Endless Space and you're better off sticking to Civ V for a while. And Metacritic was giving Endless Space a 77%, although the negative reviews are pretty on topic..."If your day is filled with firefighting, you need to start taking the matches away from the toddlers…” - HM

This has been sooo much fun. I get way more invested in it than Civ. Will admit that I wish there were a bit more explanation in the tutorial, but that's because I want to play my games, not do a bunch of reading to figure out what things should be researched next. :/Quoth Crossbow View PostEndless Legends
