Vizzini in The Princess Bride. Arrogant little shit who didn't even know what his favourite word actually meant.

Count Rugen in The Princess Bride. I actually stood up with a fist-pumped "Yes" the first time I watched it as a teenager.

The Emperor from Star Wars. This also ties in with the weepiness, since I promptly teared up when Vader pegged it.

Mr. Morden on Babylon 5. Actually, it was more Vir's reaction to his death that had me cheering, but Morden had it coming.

Hands down my favorite scene in the whole series. Damn, I've got to watch B5 again. It's been awhile.

Vir was my favorite character in the whole show.

The Governor on The Walking Dead

I'll cheer when Rick buys it. Fucker is the biggest villain on the whole damn show. He's left a trail of death and destruction everywhere he goes with his situational ethics, pretentious morals, lack of a moral compass, indecisiveness, and flat out cowardice.

I get that he won't go until the series does. I quit watching in Season 3. I'll watch the series finale just to watch him buy it.

Piet Hardie and Augustus Rhoodie in The Guns of the South (also by Harry Turtledove).

He's written 2 series (one "alternative history based on normal events", one high fantasy with a twist - think of North America spun 180 degrees so cardinal directions are reversed, so the Confederates are actually the North) and one stand-alone (involving a time machine) where the South wins.

Devin Weston, scumbag billionaire, from GTA V.

Granted, he only dies if you pick "Option C" for the finale-- but really, who would pick the other two options? Weston had basically had the three protags doing his dirty work, would frequently dick them around on pay, and was generally just a major asshole. Very satisfying to deal with him.

Mind you, Steve Haines, one of the other major scumbags in the game, gets his if you go with Option C, too, and it too was immensely satisfying.

Speaking of classic lit, does anyone know if Le Miz or Pirates of the Caribbean are worth a read? It's been a while since I dove into some literature and I'm missing it.

I have read Les Misérables. It's pretty good, except that Victor Hugo gets the story going at a good pace, then stops it dead to go into a long-winded explanation of the Napoleonic wars or the sewers of Paris. So there are a couple of spots you can skip without it affecting the story.

Also, some of the characters are portrayed differently in the book than they are the films or musical.

Not really all "deaths" but I did love the wrap-up in Oliver Twist (the novel itself, not the various theatrical and movie adaptations) when the villains get what's coming to them. Especially the "Porocial" Beedle and his wife, who end up being paupers in the same workhouse where they used to abuse the tenants.

Count Frolo in The Hunchback of Notre Dame too, same reason (if I remember right Quasimodo chucked him off the bell tower). I HATE those kinds of characters (I know you're supposed to but we're talking about hate with the fire of a thousand suns).
