Oh, I love PvP actually- in the right context. There is no point other than griefing to some PvP. But, I love battlegrounds, defending Stormwind from Horde attacks, etc.

I hear ya. I thoroughly despise "raiding" the other faction's cities and posts, in the gaming OR historical sense, and I tend to look at the whole thing from a somewhat RPish POV...live and let live, that Thrall is essentially a decent person, that even playing Alliance, not everything Varian does is good and just.

But...come to my cities, harass or grief those on my side, and it's on.

Battlegrounds...well, you *chose* to click at least two different times to be there, so what happens, you brought on yourself. Same thing with duels...no whining if you challenge me and I beat you like a redheaded stepchild.

Right, it's about choice and about fair really.

I choose to go to the battlegrounds and fight those about my character's level. They may be better players or have better gear- but whatever- I win some, I lose some. At least I have chosen and, by level, it's fair. (75 vs 25=not fair). At least the level 19 area is... not sure after that as I only play the 19 battleground.

As for defending my cities, well then I don't even worry about fair to level. I just go fight on whatever level character I'm on at the moment. (I tend to die a LOT.)

But, I got my first ever Honorable Kill with my then level 35 Warlock on a level ?? by releasing a Shadowbolt at the right moment. I just happened to somehow, miraculously, be the last Alliance player standing in Goldshire.

Yes, I died a gruesome death mere milliseconds later.

That's fun- being ganked is no fun.

Yeppers! 58 DK vs ?? mage defending Southshore... surprisingly, I lived and he didn't. PO'd the guy enough that a minor PVP war started..fun shit.

61 DK on another server...trying to turn in one of the pre reqs to the exorcism, the one that goes to the Father in the inn. Come in just in time to see a ?? druid drop the npc with a small army of guards beating on him. Hell, no time like now to enlist in the HH Militia :-) Bearskin rug, anyone?

I seem to have better luck with DKs than anyone...they get some insane kills in world PVP. Everyone else might get a lucky shot, the DKs just steamroll anything they touch.

I hate PVP with a vengence....this coming from a person who leveled a HOLY priest from 1 to 65 on a PVP server...thankfully I avioded almost all the "hotspots" and leveled fairly quickly.

a side note though...For those of you in Brain Bleach don't forget the guild meeting on the 22nd.

And for those of you who are in the guild and haven't been online in 4 to 7 months, please either contact me with a reason.

We're getting ready to start buckling down finally and start some low end raiding to get us used to the idea and need to see what we have available.

I have to admit, I don't really get all the QQ about PvP severs...I've leveled four toons 1-70 plus a bunch of random alts, and I've never really had a big problem. I can think of perhaps one or two occasions where I got seriously camped, and that's just not a big deal, part of the package is all.

Also, I do have a lowbie alt in Brain Bleach...I probabaly won't be playing her much, I'm in a fairly serious guild on my main server (Plug Uglies of Mug'thol if anybody is curious) and I've been devoting post of my playtime there. You might see me on every once in a while...I do play that particular alt more than any of the others I have on other servers.

I'll create a DK over there and join you guys. I'm really enjoying the DK class since it eliminates all the lower-level stuff.

For the track record, I'm not a PvPer myself. I always feel like I'm useless in those fights because I'm not min-maxed for PvP. The bear was just too tempting though, as well as the concept of wiping the smiles off some hordies faces. (I don't play on your server, so nothing personal.)

And Jenni, if you want the other mounts than the mutant Chocobo, you need to put in the effort. The Bear is probably the fastest one you can get if a raid is forming. All the others I know of either require a) considerable accomplishments in the achievement system, b) getting exalted with a faction or c) dumb luck. The only exceptions are the pally, warlock, and deathknight mounts and the zebra.

Dalaran warbear is cash n carry. Think there's a token bought fast mount you can get with 30 WSG, 30 AV, and 30 ABs.

Otherwise, exalted isn't too bad...any quest for your side you do gives you a small boost to the other cities alongside the main one it shows, like if it says Undercity +50 then you usually get about 15 with Org, TB, etc also. That's why doing a quest for say...Freewind Post might bump you to honored with Undercity or Silvermoon.

At your level, it wouldn't be too hard to go back and blaze thru another race's quests, starting with the smallest level 1 stuff, and work your way up. You'll get full rep, so it isn't too bad and you've got a head start due to what I mentioned, if you've been questing to level.

Most of the drake mounts are pretty easy to get...red drake is exalted Wyrmrest, which is absolutly trivial since you can tabbard that rep. The yellow drake is for a timed heroic Culling of Strat run...again, really easy.
