There's a town in the eastern half of my state, (Washington), that is named Toppenish.
Some years back, a situation arose, and since it's been awhile my memory is foggy on the exact details, but it was something like the kids at the local schools, couldn't research their own town on the school's computers, because the filter considered Toppenish a dirty word!

I can beat that - there's a street in Toronto (can't recall exactly which of the cities it was in before Metro Toronto was amalgamated into one city) that's named Scunthorpe.
Any fool can piss on the floor. It takes a talented SC to shit on the ceiling.
We've got a town/city called Scunthorpe, which is probably the origin of the street name. We've also got Netherthong and Wetwang as local (to me) village names.
