My boss just got a Droid and downloaded the new B&N app for that. It's pretty cool. My phone doesn't support anything cool (Which is probably just as well).

This thread is renewing my desire to inventory my books. I may not be able to leave my living room (the only room with AC) this weekend, so it might be a good time to do it, since that's where the majority of my books are.
I have a running inventory on my books in the form of an excel spreadsheet. My apartment has a big closet (5ft by 6ft) and that became my book room as soon as we moved in. I also have a bookcase in the living room with all my classics and one in the office with my reference and history books. My prized possessions are my signed Anne Rice The Tale of the Body Thief, signed anniversary edition Anne Rice Interview With the Vampire, and the collectors edition of The Vampire Lestat comics. Can't get those kinds of things on e-readers!

When I worked for the cruise line and we were waiting for our flight from training to the ship, a conversation started over what everyone brought with for the 6 month contract. I was heavily ridiculed for bringing books to Hawaii, but damned if I didn't read like none other while I was there. Every friday I dropped $50 on books at Borders, and after eating I'd run back to my cabin and spend the rest of my lunch hour buried in the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, George Carlin, random true crime, Michael Crighton, Chuck Pathulik, Bradbury, Orwell, Vonnegut, Huxley...that and a healthy supply of music kept me sane until I returned to my homeland.
E-readers are nifty, I'm sure, but I'm already carrying around an iPod and my phone. Also, living in a place where the summers are over 110 and winters are below zero I can't leave elctronics in my car but 3 months out of the year, but I can throw a few books in my satchel and not have to worry about it. That and I never have to upgrade a paperback when they overhaul the OS, etc.

There's a Kindle app for the iPhone!

I haven't downloaded anything on mine, yet.
There's Kindle and Nook apps for my Droid Eris as well. Thing is, it defeats the purpose of the reader itself, namely the e-ink. I use Aldiko on my phone and have been very happy with it.
