That's the ONLY way they should be eaten! :PQuoth fireheart17 View PostAll you US folk should try a Tim-Tam slam.
My favourites are some of the foods that my family usually cooks for our Christmas Eve celebration:
- Risalamande (Creamed rice with almonds and a cherry sauce)
- Caramelized Potatoes
- Kong HÃ¥rkons Kage (Danish shortbread)Don't tempt pixies, it never ends well.

I have never seen them in the grocery stores. Only specialty shops. That is why I thought you might work at the Australian Bakery. If you haven't tried it, you should.Quoth Amusement Gal View PostI've actually seen them in a couple of Krogers I've been to. Nothing exactly specific location-wise. I'd figure Publix would be the one to have them (and I'm sure they do in some), but I've seen them mostly in Kroger.
That being said, I want to know more about that tzaziki sauce. Yum!

It's a yogurt/cucumber sauce, and apparently pretty easy to make. I don't like yogurt, but I looooove tzaziki. Very light and tangy.Quoth csquared View PostThat being said, I want to know more about that tzaziki sauce. Yum!"Even arms dealers need groceries." ~ Ziva David, NCIS

I've seen the place but never tried it. Tzatziki sauce is yummy! It's like plain (good!) yogurt, mixed with chopped cucumbers and garlic, and olive oil. That's really all it is, but if you want something more precise, this would be your best bet. This recipe says to use Greek yogurt, but using a really good plain Dannon brand is about the same result. We use Oregano instead of dill or mint though. Just remember that the food processor is your friend on this one!
Edit: Curse you ninjas! I am the superior poster, you cannot defeat me!My only regret is that I don't have a better word for "F@#k You".

Should have been clearer. I know what tzaziki sauce is.
I am curious about this Twilight burning stuff that Amusement Gal was referring to.
ETA: You really should use the good Greek yogurt. It does make a difference.Last edited by csquared; 08-31-2010, 04:09 PM.

When I worked at the Indian/Pakistani restaurant, they kept me well-fed. I was a starving college student. Looooved the kheer. We only used rice, milk, sugar, rosewater, and pistachios. Soooo good. Oh, and naan, baked in an actual stone pit at 800 degrees F.Quoth patiokitty View PostOkay, now I'm craving Greek food! We don't have a Greek restaurant in the city I live in...we used to but they closed down due to the owner's husband cheating on her and wiping out all her bank accounts. Once upon a time I used to work in a restaurant owned by Greeks...they kept me well fed

A friend of mine is going to PAX!Quoth Elspeth View PostOne word: Pocky
Yeah I have to hide it from myself or I will just eat the whole package. And most if not all the flavors are good.
Reminds me that I need to go to Cost Plus World Market (evil store) to get Pocky for PAX Prime this weekend
