I'm an occasional sports fan. I've never understood sports, but the ones i do like to watch are football and hockey. (Go fig.) Hell, i'll even watch lacrosse!

ANyway, i live smack-dab in the middle of "oil country". and i'm expected to be an oilers/eskies fan.

to screw with everyone (including my dad and older sister), i watch Flames games and i'm a fan of the BC Lions.

I could really care less who is actually on the team.

and IIRC, football sprung from rugby, which is "real man's sport". i could be wrong though.

I grew up in Knoxville, which is home to the University of Tennessee. I HATE Volunteer fans. The manager at one of the restaurants I worked at was a huge Vol fan so I forced myself to keep up to date on the basics. Especially if they won or lost and the score.
I had a decent knowledge of local sports while living there. But it was necessary.
That being said I like most sports (except baseball for some reason) but I was loathed to choose any particular team to cheer for. The only two teams I had any consistent loyalty to were FSU football (my mom went there) and the Detroit Red Wings (my dad is from Michigan).
