Tonight I did almost 90 minutes at the gym - 35 on the treadmill w/3 or 5 min cool-down, 30 on elliptical w/3min cool-down and 15 on a reclining bike.
My quads are feeling it a little! I didn't do any weight machines because I'll need to be able to use my arms and shoulders for the bookstore tomorrow night. I will on Wednesday though.
I was also thrilled to maintain my weight loss over the weekend since we went to my uncle's birthday party and there was lots of yummy but unhealthy food there! So while I was in the middle of the pack for the group for % lost, I was happy that the coconut cake didn't do me in entirely!

I walked 3.45 miles in 67 minutes (including a few minutes on either end to warm up/cool down); mostly between 3 and 3.5mph.
I think my biggest challenge will be my eating habits. But I'm working on it. Slowly.I don't go in for ancient wisdom

There is absolutely nothing wrong with that! Remember, the only thing that makes something a "breakfast" or "dinner" food is social convention, not any nutritional or caloric makeup.Quoth Reyneth View PostI'm a bit of a freak and sometimes have lunch/dinner items for breakfast!
I am not huge on candy, but I have to say, there is no way in Heaven or Earth that any imitation Snickers bar could possibly taste better than the original. Speak not such blasphemy!Quoth RetailWorkhorse View PostThere is one that looks just like a Snickers bar but tastes even better.
Quoth Reyneth View PostI'm cutting down on the pop (slowly, because I don't like coffee and I need the caffeine!) and that will help too.Caffeine is not easy to give up. Take it from a former addict who is now going over 18 years without it.Quoth Becks View PostMy biggest problem at the moment--giving up Pepsi. I get hellaciously bad headaches and the pain creeps down my neck and back when I don't get my caffeine.
I imagine it's tougher for those who have to have their morning coffee, as that is as much ritual as it is caffeine intake. I never drank coffee, so for me it was merely a matter of giving up certain sodas. It wasn't easy, but for me at least, it was absolutely necessary.
I wish I could offer advice on the best way to do this, but I really can't. In my case, I simply gave it up cold turkey (a week before midterms no less!) and dealt with the consequences. Good luck with it, however you go about it.

Speaking as someone who can NOT have regular candy and haven't had regular candy for over a year, I know what I'm talking about.Quoth Jester View PostI am not huge on candy, but I have to say, there is no way in Heaven or Earth that any imitation Snickers bar could possibly taste better than the original. Another day, another workout 50 minutes on the elliptical again.
I cant wait for the snow to melt so I can go walking outside again. No one around here shovels their sidewalks so walking in the snow/ice is dangerous.
Last night I did 45 wall pushups, 45 plank rows on each arm, 40 Pliés.

I think I'm gonna skip the machines for a while and focus on jogging and pull ups.
http://www.coolrunning.com/ has a workout schedule for getting from The Couch to 5k that I started this week. It's pretty easy right now. I start walking at 3.9 to 4mph for 5 minutes, jog at 6.5mph for 60 seconds, then walking for 90 seconds, etc for 20 minutes. Builds up a good sweat, and I made almost 2 miles in 20 minutes last night.
I think I'm going to go to the doctor, though, because when I run I've noticed a pain in my ankle radiating up the side of my calf. Like I twisted it or something. Or I may just be running wrong on that foot, I dunno.
Also need to get some kind of workout glove for the pull up machine. The handlebars with pads are too far apart on the machine for me. Way more than my shoulder-width, so I've been using the unlined bar space. But I'm gonna get blisters in no time from that.
On the plus side, it's getting easier to do 15 pull ups lifting 25lbs. I'm gonna try to increase the weight by next week. ^^"For the love of all that is holy and 4 things that aren’t but feel pretty good anyway" ~ Gravekeeper

its awesome, K and I have 3,4,5km walks on it and have done them in past summer after dinner
589 calories in 50 minutes today, im SO close to 600!
Im starting to really notice a change in my clothes, I have about 5 pairs of jeans that are just a little to tight to wear comfortably, I got one pair on the other day and they didnt create a muffin top! YAY, the one pair that did fit me have really started to fall apart and I refuse to buy a new pair when I have 5 perfectly good pairs that will be fine when I drop another 5-10 lbs!I wasnt put on this earth to make you feel like a man ~ Mary Bertone

I've noticed that lately I'm not craving junk food. The thought of greasy food actually makes me a little queasy...Also, my portion control is getting better. I'm still getting WAY too hungry after lunch, but I think it's because I'm lazy and don't pack a carb...woops...The report button - not just for decoration

we had to have a candy bowl when I worked on a reception even after I tried to explain to my boss it didn't exactly fit in with our "fit and healthy" company image, so I hid it from my sight, in front of the vase of flowers we also had so I didn't have to see them.Quoth HorrorFrogPrincess View PostLucky. do you have to have the bowl? if you do I totally agree you need to get candies you don't like! do you have something you can put infront of it like a vase or a business calender ... anything to keep it out of your line of siteI wasnt put on this earth to make you feel like a man ~ Mary Bertone

There isn't ANYTHING to hide it behind. I can't even move it or remove it, since it's the company's dime. I'll just have to use willpower to limit myself to 10 Reeses Minis a day, jog everyday, and stop getting stuff I like afterwards.Quoth Kiwi View Postwe had to have a candy bowl when I worked on a reception even after I tried to explain to my boss it didn't exactly fit in with our "fit and healthy" company image, so I hid it from my sight, in front of the vase of flowers we also had so I didn't have to see them.
