  • I wish I had an accurate way of measuring body fat. I really need to take some basic measurements. I haven't lost any in the past three weeks and I do know I haven't been as good about working out or eating right. I do want to see some changes though!

I've been doing more machines, more reps and more weight on them so I have to be building muscle. But I don't want to replace fat with muscle, I want to lose lots of fat while gaining some muscle!

Tonight I was proud of myself. I was nearly *done* on the elliptical after about 20 min of the planned 41 (the program has odd interval times). But I decided I wanted to get to 200 calories burned. Then 250. Then I finished the whole thing. My workout budy is nearly non-existant and that sucks but hey, I'm the one that's gonna be HAWT and she's not (although in fairness she is married already).

    • My day off yesterday, but knees were giving me stronger warning signs, and I did a ten-hour overtime shift on little more than four hours of sleep and caffeine. However, this morning I was down to 17st 5lb (suspect some dehydration in there) and I'm helping unload a container of 26 tons of tinned goods this morning as overtime. I reckon I may lose more sweat

      • Rey, don't worry too much about any figures. Don't stress over body fat percentage. It's certainly a better indicator than weight alone, but it's so hard to measure accurately.

Go with size. Pants looser? Belt a notch tighter? You should see results there, although maybe three weeks is a little short yet.

45m circuit class today. I hate and love circuit. It's a good way to be active, it's good to get some strength in (since I never do it elsewhen even though I should!), and you only have to do each thing for a minute but ... I *hate* each thing that I'm doing, when I'm doing it. I groan at each 'next' item.

You'd think I'd at least have an opportunity to set it up easy for myself - it's my circuit class. But it's effective, not easy, which of course it has to be. I really wouldn't want an easy one - what would be the point? But while doing it? It sucks.

        • Container today cost me 645 calories in 1 hour and 45 minutes. Not as much exertion, probably due to more people in the team. Got another on Thursday.

Depending on knees, may hit the hill tonight. Alternatively, with an extra half day manual work overtime tomorrow, I may just bake some cookies.

          • I haven't been to the gym at all for the last two days, nor will I tomorrow, I've got a stinker of a cold so won't be doing anything until that goes.
A PSA, if I may, as well as another.

            • Haha, you got my cold!

Trying some ice skating tonight. Haven't done that in YEARS. Bordering on decades. I have a friend who plays in a hockey league and wants me to join too, so this is the "Can I actually stand up" test.

              • I havent been doing anything for a couple of days, I think I have an ear infection or a spring cold... somethings wrong with me or I wouldn't be sleeping 18 hours a day. I think it might be time for my allergy medication again....

                • Just got in a 30 minute workout. Started The Biggest Loser Power Sculpt DVD. So far, I think I like it. I also have th Cardio Max DVD, and hope to obtain the Weight Loss Yoga DVD. I've heard good reviews of both, and figured I'd give them a shot to keep the workout process fresh and different. Don't want to get stuck in an exercise rut!

Have fun skating One-Fang. I tried it once. Long ago. Never again. Skates and Lupo are a combiination to be FEARED!

                    • Well it was fun. Kind of got the hang of going fowards okay. Found that if you start to lose it and almost fall backwards, bending the knees gets you back to a good stable position.

No ability to stop yet though! That's okay, that's what the wall is for at the rink edge.

I did dodge a hit. DH was there too and was going great beside me for a few secs till one skate kind of dug in, he lost control, and went flying sideways, straight at me! I managed to avoid him, but lost control myself and went careening towards the wall! Fortunately nobody was in the way, and the wall was nice and close (we kept it close all night), so no harm done.

Contemplating a 3k run tonight. That's a short and sweet one. I've got the 10k on Saturday. Haven't done a lot of running as I had that cold last weekend, so I feel like I should, but ... two days before a 10k...? I dunno. I would normally do the 5k at this group, so the 3k is 'taking it easy'.

                      • Did another 40 minutes of exercise tonight. Yoga/Pilates blend. My muscles are really feeling this one. It's actually kind of nice!

Now I just need to figure out what to do for dinner, and I'm set for the night. Need water first....waaaaatter!!!

                        • No exercising today. I called off yesterday due to a massive headache and still wasn't back to normal the first part of today so I knew I shouldn't push it, as much as I wanted to go.

I did get a dumbbell at Target to do some exercises to work my upper arms that the machines don't get.

                          • 5 k walk today with a break in the middle for a game of catch, the rivers are low right now so we went for most of the walk along the sandy banks (they call it a beach here hahahaha) but it was nice all the same.

                            • 3.5km run today. I have the 10k on Saturday, so that's it now, nothing planned for tomorrow.

                              • Emptying the container today used about 700 calories. Done some stupid amount of overtime and my left knee is really giving me warning noises and pains. May leave hill-based exercise until maybe Friday evening at soonest.

                                Mind you, the money's good...
