  • My Wii Fit age is 34. Chronological age 30 (31 next month). But 30 minutes of Wii Fit exercises kicked my ass, 2 days later and I've still got sore legs.

    • Okay, I've decided to get back into shape and everything.

I've decided to start walking for 10 minutes a day. Well, more than likely mosey for 10 minutes a day and then proceed up to a walk. And yes, 10 minutes/day is nothing, but it's something and with my knee (hurt in car accident) and back (hurt 2 times by falling down on black ice, rain slick wood & going down the stairs) problems, I'll be happy doing just that for now.

Plus, I'm going to be counting my calories (starting on Monday ). Does anyone know of a good calorie counter that can be used online? Thanks!

I may start Tues and Thurs toning specific body parts (guy, chest, arms, back, etc..)
Draggar ... ? Um ... your guy parts don't need working on.

        • No workout for Lupo tonight. When loading up the tent and books from the remote buyback I stretched my back in a way that I shouldn't have. It twinges and aches. And carrying my backpack with my laptop and all other accoutrements home on the bus only exacerbated the issue.

My poor back. Hopefully a hot soak and some quiet stretches will help. I'm just worried that sleeping on it will only make that much worse. Here's hoping it doesn't.

          • My Wii Fit age went up! From 34 to 39.

OTOH, I am no longer in the obese category - now I'm just below the border between overweight and obese.

Also I got 4 stars in pushup and side lift, which unlocked pushup challenge.

And now I'm having lunch of soup which, just yesterday, was a bag of fresh vegetables.

            • I hit the gym today, 3k run (untimed) and resistance work on my upper body, I'm taking it easy on my legs until my knee is back up to 100%.
A PSA, if I may, as well as another.

              • I hit the 10 lb mark!!!!

I weighed myself this morning, not expecting much because I didn't really workout OR watch my foods. Working outside in a tent all day, all week, kind of killed all drive to workout before or after, and made me supremely hungry for some reason. Anyways...

I stepped on the scale and I am EXACTLY 10 lbs lighter than I was last month! This is thrilling! I was so squealy happy, I completely forgot to measure myself! LOL. I think I've lost a bit more inch-wise, only judging by how my pants are fitting.

Either way, happy Lupo!! It just makes me so jazzed, and I wanted to share!!

                  • I know, I'm so thrilled! and that's motivation right there! I'm planning on going for another walk after dinner. I feel like I can do more than 30 minutes, and maybe go for an hour or so, or at the very least 45 minutes. This is happy for me.

Plus, now that I know how my HRM actually works, I know that I really burn calories when I push myself walking. Always a bonus to know I can burn a few hundred calories just by traversing a flat surface at a steady pace.

                    • Well, drat!! My evening walk got called on account of rain! I knew it was going to be drizzly, so I brought an umbrella, and it was actually quite nice at first. A bit of moisture, a cool breeze while walking, GREAT!

And then it started pouring. BOO!

Instead of my attempt at 45 minutes to an hour, I got in 32 minutes, 262 calories burned, max pulse of 160.

Poo. I was hoping for more. Not bad, though, all things considered.

                      • Wii Fit age 29! For the first time it's less than my chronological age.

                        • I have this couple of "tankini" style bathing suits I had before I had a baby. The bottoms don't stretch, they either fit or they don't. They are not "panty" type bottoms, they are shorts.

                          They FIT NOW!!!!

In fact, one of them has a full tank top that completely covers my belly. It's very slimming to start with, and now I can wear it easily. The other one is shorter, and I'm a little too flabby to be comfortable in it, so I won't wear it just yet, but I can put it on and it really doesn't look that bad.

Not bad for an old broad.

I chalk it up to paying more attention to what I eat, no more desk job and thus more physical exercise (housework and yard work are HARD work), and not eating the large meals I was eating everyday for lunch.

                          • Yay, RecoveringKinkoid! That's great news!! Not bad at all, but I'll refrain from calling you an old broad. My mama and grandma would smack me if I even thought it!

As for me, I got up early this mornign and went for a walk again!

55 minutes, 464 calories, max pulse of 159. And I did 5 minutes of stretching afterwards. I feel relaxed and limber. It's quite nice.

                            • Don't feel bad about falling off, Cookie, happens to all of us. The best thing is, you're getting back into it.

I fell off, too, and got right back in. Just take it easy on your knees at first. Break 'em in, if you will. And good luck!!

                              • I ate 1 packet of Kirkland Organic Instant Oatmeal - Mixed berry & I moseyed for my 10 minutes today.

I even had some old dude ask if I'd like to play golf with him. I told him that if it was "mini golf" sure.

And I found a penny on my walk. YAY ME!

ETA: I also went out and bought a large straw hat to wear on my walks. The sales clerk laughed as I told her I didn't need a bag as I'd wear it out of the store. Not sure if she was bemused at that or thought I looked silly, but I love my hat!
