  • I took a day off - where's everyone else?

Thirty minutes, 457 calories. Of note, weight back up to 17st 4lb, so it could have been a temporary dip. Also of note is that my resting pulse rate was 55 before exercising - just sat in front of computer. That's better than it usually is.

    • Gonna work on just upper body until the leg heals 100%. But through just eating healthy, I'm still slowly losing. I made a new goal: no coffee, no booze until the Big E (sept 20 is when we're going) then I will treat myself to a nice bag as a reward for doing well (I never did my goal treat)

      • Got up this morning and did the first part of the Biggest Loser Weight Loss Yoga DVD I have. Haven't done it in a while. Ooh, are my muscles feeling it. This is a good thing. Now, to just stay on track.

        • Ran yesterday evening, managed to end up running 3.25 miles of the 3.6mi loop. The only real walking (not just walking to get to/from the bubbler) was the chunk after the first water break, which is when the Hill of Evilness and Doom begins. I walked the first quarter mile because I pushed myself too hard on the mile and quarter previously. Today I'm going to try and not push myself so hard, but just fall into the groove I'd managed to establish in the last mile last night.

I don't know what it was, but the last mile was a breeze. Best feeling I've had.

Of course then I went and ordered Pad Thai when I got home, because I didn't feel like cooking dinner. I haven't eaten well this week, though not as badly as I could be eating if I listened to my "oo I want that" voice. I need to get to the grocery store and pick up some fresh food for the trip to Atlanta so I don't end up eating junk the whole way down.

          • Walked the pooch for 90 minutes Saturday and Sunday. Far more satisfying than walking just for an hour. Going to try for 75 minutes during the week (TTO doesn't like it if I walk after dark).

              • Cat was a BAD kitty today.....she went out to eat.

Actually, it wasn't that much food (how many cals can a veggie chili burrito have?) but ugh....I feel like I ate way too much.

I find it is getting harder to be "good," when I'm home or just with the boy, I'll eat very healthy....but I've been invited going out a few days this week.

I will be good....I will eat healthy....I will not drink...I will earn that new bag that is waiting for me at the Big E!

                • Yesterday I went to a running store (called, oddly enough, The Running Store) and said "I need new shoes and someone who knows what they're talking about!" So they helped me find sneakers which I had every intention of using at the park today but when I got out of work I was so thoroughly drained (stress, not enough sleep last night, stress, a touch of boredom, stress....) that I went home and took a nap instead. My gym bag is waiting patiently for me under my desk for tomorrow, though.

I learned that I need more stability than my current shoes are giving me, as my foot rolls inward a bit, and they're also a 1/2 size too small. I also learned a trick with the laces to keep the heel from slipping. So hopefully tomorrow I can let y'all know how they work out.

                  • Whew! Think I slightly over did it yesterday
walked during lunch - 45 minutes
walked the pooch - 75 minutes
running at gym - 15 minutes
+ bench press and pec flys. Ouch

                    • Next time you push yourself like that, take an NSAID before bed. I find Aleve/Naproxen does the best job, though Advil/Ibuprofin is good in a pinch. I've never had luck with Tylenol/Acetaminophen, though others might. Avoid aspirin, because the anti-clotting nature of it will actually make things worse.

                      Speaking of...

I ran 3.5 miles this morning, out of the 3.6 mile loop. Plus I managed to run The Hill of Doom again.

And now I'm going to go frost cupcakes. For Dragon*Con. Where I will be eating lots of junk and drinking lots of booze.

I just hope my progress isn't shot to hell after this.

                      • Walked half an hour during lunch, and 50 minute walk with the pooch. 20 minute walk on the treadmill on 11% incline (215 calories woot!) and 10 minutes on the stepper, plus crunches and back extensions. I'm losing the Canada kilos!
Eating a damn nice salad with chicken and mushrooms (cooked together), butter lettuce and spinach, baby tomatoes and baby carrots, sugarsnap peas and french beans, and a little bit of cheddar. *drool*

                            • Did a lap of the park, 40 minutes. Includes some hills (I go in the direction that has me going down the biggest one, though). My new shoes are definitely better than the old ones. My foot didn't hurt like it had been....didn't help my stamina much but I did do a few more stretches of running than usual.
