Anyone know why my sweat recently started to smell differently?

I can't explain the new odour, but as it's mine it's obviously awesome. To me. However, I'm baffled that it's changed.

Have you made any changes to your diet lately, especially strong flavors or scents? Or cut back on something?
    Meeeeoooow.....
    Still missing you, Plaid

Cutting back - should have done, but what I've done is not to the extent I should have. Not really changed the stuff I eat so much - maybe a little extra with turmeric or cumin, but not that much more.

      • Seshat, thanks for all the information. I copied and pasted it into my exercise idea/info word doc. I can't afford a gym, but I'll keep in the whole..."work alternate muscles" thing in mind.

Today I bought a used copy of eaActive and did the first day of the 30 day challenge. You know, it said I only burned 140 cals but it feels like more. I am going to buy a better resistance band tomorrow at work along with some work out clothing...

The only thing that irked me is during the running, the stupid band that goes around the thigh kept slipping down.

        • I have the same problem with the strap....I just put the nunchuk in my pocket when running. What an odd sentence if not in the context of ea active?

Used today as a rest day....but I stupidly went to Trader Joes to use a gift card. I always eat too much after TJ's. Oh well, hahhaha

                • I'm actually taking the Hops on a 7.5km route now. I started at 4 kms, went up to 5, then 6 and now 7.5. I try and run 3kms of it, and walk 4.5kms of it - my legs are sore, and I'm mad hungry most of the day!!

                  • Hopped on the exercise bike briefly this morning, for 20 minutes at a moderate pace. Trying to get back into the groove of exercising. 253 calories burned. Feelin' the burn.

                      • Not had a chance over the last couple of days, what with parent in hospital (far better than he was, thankfully). However, in a rush to the counter to pay for my car's repair before they closed, I had to clamber over and jump off one of the fence barriers around the dealership. As I landed, I figured this wasn't a good move.

                        No pain.

May get some tomorrow, but right now it's a vast improvement.

                        • I've just started counting my steps. I've gone from couch potato to ocassional walker. The stress on my joints is killing me though.

I don't know if it is because I'm walking more than I have before or what but my ankles are swollen to the size of soft balls and they ache.. oh boy do they ache. And my knee is so sore.

I think I'll just have to go find a bathing suit and start doing laps at the indoor pool... once the gym opens back up from remodeling. Sonofa. -.-

You're most welcome! Glad I could help.
                            Seshat's self-help guide:
                            1. Would you rather be right, or get the result you want?
                            2. If you're consistently getting results you don't want, change what you do.
                            3. Deal with the situation you have now, however it occurred.
                            4. Accept the consequences of your decisions.

                              • Joining back in after falling off the treadmill (lol!) last fall due to Swine Flu and the holidays.

Went on Monday, spent 31 min on the elliptical and did a few upper body machines.

Went tonight, spent 33 min on the elliptical at a little higher resistance and spent about 3xs longer on the upper body machines.

I'm trying to use the stairs at work as much as possible. I'm on the 3rd floor but they are tall stories, so it's equivalent of 3-4 flights or so, I think. One can of pop per day with Tuesday (at my 2nd job) a possible exception if I'm tired and one other "pick my day" during the week/weekend.

30-40 pounds by my sister's wedding July 31 and getting in better shape in general is the goal.
