we need a CS workout clothing line, I can think of nothing better than people jogging around town with "CUSTOMER SUCK.COM" plastered across their junk!

    • Uugghh..... I got really sick two weeks ago and couldn't exercise for about a week. Walking the dog half a block made my asthma act up really bad, and it was all I could do to make it through work afterward.

Since then I've found it really hard to get back in the swing of things. It doesn't help that my knees have been hurting a lot lately, even icing them after I work out doesn't seem to help much. I'm sure it doesn't help them that I spend all day at work standing on a concrete floor with some tile and a rubber pad laid over it.

I just signed up for the Breast Cancer 3 Day, though, so now I have to get in shape. My Aunt (who I'm walking with), the dog, and I are going for a mile walk tomorrow morning, we'll see how I do.

      • Guh, I seem to be GAINING weight. I've been working out for 2 weeks, and I've gained 5lbs. I haven't changed my diet or anything. I'm still eating healthy (for the most part) and limiting my Out To Eats to once a week.

And don't say it's muscle. No way I could get 5lbs of muscle just running and working on pull ups. ><

Raps what kind of watch do you have! I want one
The Polar F6. Cost me about $130 Canadian.

I'm not saying that these are perfectly accurate to tell you exactly how many calories you've burned, but it's a good guide.

            • I've got a gym induction session tonight.

My best mate wants to lose weight as well so she suggested that we join together to motivate each other.

I think i am getting the better end of the bargain as she works in a school so has that tone of voice that all teachers are issued with. The one that means i won't be backing out each week no matter how much I want to.

The gym has a trainer to meet with us tonight to help set goals and come up with routines which is a good thing. But it also means that some skinny, healthy person in sportswear that fits like it is supposed to will be basically telling me that Ii am fat which is not such a good thing.

              • Wow, OK, I'm in much better shape than I thought I was.

I did a mile with the dog this morning, and I could go again right now, no problem.

I did that walk over the summer, and had to take a nap afterward.

I'm probably not up the three mile walks my handbook wants me to start with, but it'll be no problem to get ready for them by the end of April.

Well... my gym pants HAVE been feeling a little loose.

Meh, I guess as long as I can fit into my pants, I shouldn't care. Anything to avoid buying a whole new wardrobe.

                  Way to go!

One of the trainers at the gym that I talk to a lot suggested I join a 5k at the end of the month. With the Cirque du Soleil performers. It could be fun, but I don't think I'm ready for 3 miles. I still can't limit my speed without a treadmill.

Incidentally, I've found running is all about the music. Running to "Footloose" is the EASIEST thing in the world.

So glad to hear (read?) that! I bet your doggie loves all the extra walkies.

Even though I'm at a weight loss standstill this week for the most part, all of the aerobic stuff has gotten easier for me also - and that's a big deal in and of itself. Go us! And I mean all of us that are doing just that little more or can make it through easier - anything.

                      • I had a rather not good day.

3 sodas, pizza, Cheetos and popcorn.

However, I DID get a bit of exercise.

                        • Of note, I hit the hill twice last night. My resting pulse rate was down remarkably - just into the sixties when it was regularly in the 70s/80s. The first time I did the hill twice, my pulse rate hit over 190. When I did it three times on Wednesday morning, my maximum was 174, and last night it was 169.

I wasn't actually going to hit it last night, but then I had dessert...

                          • So, we had our induction last night and it wasn't anywhere near as scarey as I was expecting. They ha e quite a funky setup with these keys that log what you do and carry a customized routine to make things easier for us to stick to it.

Last night was all about setting our base levels and I am going back today to collect our programmed keys.

My only problem is that last months ice antics induced damage is limiting what equipment I can comftably use but that will improve with time. Hopefully this could be the start of something big......

                            • I got some gloves for weight lifting, padded to protect the hands. It'll make doing my pull ups easier when I don't have to worry about blisters.

My shoulders were actually sore yesterday. The good kind that comes after an effective workout. Lul! Arm strength!

                              • Hit the hill three times just now - 700 calories, the watch reckons, and a max pulse rate of 170. Slightly faster time as well. Improving.

Mind you, I was pre-emptively burning off the burgers I have for my imminent meal
