mine are gonna be slightly late this year...money is tight till I finish house sitting on the 18th, then I have to order the cards, and then mail them off.

My stamps came in the mail today (there's some irony in that, is there not?)...no one will be getting any cards from me before Thanksgiving, however. And any I get before then are not allowed to be displayed until the day after Thanksgiving (per roomie's rule, established when I got the first early-bird cards last year).

If anyone is still cardless and theres an Ollies in yer area...hit them up. Cheap cards, but good quatity. IDK about you but I aint paying $9 for 10 cards.

I thought about making my own cards this year, but after looking into the cost of the envelopes, I decided to just use the ones I bought at the Dollar Tree's After Christmas sale. 60 for $1.50.
I won't be mailing mine until the first week of December.

On that note did you just finish your plan or ?? I'm on one myself and am curious...I should have about 2 years left I guess....or less if I"m lucky.

Yes, I just finished it. Warning, though, I finished it about 6 months after they first told me I would be done.

I know yay us I just made a comment about this in another thread...something was said about credit scores going down when you get rid of credit cards...crazy.

And then, if you go with a consolidation company, that also impacts your credit score... which makes NO SENSE.

You're trying to get your debt taken care of, and you're penalized because you need help with it???? Arg.

My guess would be that the Consolidation counts as the creditors "selling the debt" again, which is a ding against your record. Chances are that they affect your score when they check your original rating, as well. Bankruptcy's even worse, but it has the same purpose: Take a major credit hit now in order to (hopefully) get the debts taken care of, and increase your score in a few years (as opposed to leaving it crappy indefinitely). They're both -- in theory -- the lesser of two evils.

Shame bankruptcy doesn't affect school loans (at all -- it's not considered a valid excuse for not paying those), or I would seriously be considering it. School loans ARE my only debts left, and they're weighing down heavily on both me and on my credit score >_<

I made mine the year before last, and the paper I used folded in half to fit in a regular letter-size mailing envelope.

I made mine a couple of years in a row
I had bought some card making kits.

the ones I bought the second year didn't have glue on some of the envelopes.
What a pain that was. LOL

I always wondered if the glue I used made it hard to get the cards out, or if they all stuck to the envelopes. LOL.

I am handwriting all of my addresses.

I'm sure my hands will hate me by the time I'm done, but I don't want to go the labels route.

I am too! I have about a third of them done....if I do this for 3 or 4 nights I'll be good...no way am I doing it all at once
