  • Just noticed the picture is sideways, and I'm not sure how to fix it.
It is actually at the top of a slope but the part at the bottom of the slope is also my yard. One third of my yard is pretty flat and the rest is pretty slopey. I actually lock my car in the drive all summer so no one accidentally knocks it out of gear, it would roll into the river across the road. I don't bother in the winter, it would land in the snow bank between my drive and the river.
Pain and suffering are inevitable...misery is optional.

      • dalesys - sounds about right. But the electric door unlocking and the key locking don't work that well when it gets too cold. It's embarrassing calling a locksmith to let into your car that you've locked yourself out of, when you're standing outside of it holding the key. (It becomes less embarrassing when the first locksmith comes out, can't get in either and gives you the card of a 'specialist')

          • how come nobody ever told me that being depressed and anxious at the same time makes even beautiful things too painful to deal with?

And take that breath under the dark sky full of stars. Breathe in. Breathe out. That's all."

At the current moment it's not raining. It's about five in the afternoon, it's completely dark outside, and someone is mowing their lawn.

Sounds like my neighborhood. A lawn that is taller than 1/8 of an inch is Teh Ebil. The old lady across the street spends hours picking god knows what out of her lawn. It's NOVEMBER. Give it a rest!

Arg, one of those neighbors. I was more commenting on the fact if it's not raining everyone scrambles to do tasks, even if it's dark. It's not an area that is very uptight about lawns, unlike my hometown. I swear, you wouldn't want your kids to play on that grass, it's so full of weedkiller and scary fertilizer that it's probably radioactive.
