  • So, what books are we all reading? (Inspired by Rapscallion's games post!)

At the moment, I'm re-reading my favourite Stephen King book, The Stand, for the eleventymillionth time. I always manage to find something new or a forgotten character in that book!

Lately, I've been on a crime/thriller type spree reading through the books of authors like Peter James, Karen Rose, Karin Slaughter & Kathy Reichs.

I'm so glad I got my Kindle for Christmas, I'm back to reading at any spare moment I can get Before, I was starting to find it difficult & sometimes painful to hold books at times & so most of my reading was confined to bed where I could rest the book on something & just hold it lightly. Now the Kindle is loaded & goes everywhere with me

So, what's everyone else reading, I could do with some ideas
    Arp happens!

Just when I was getting used to yesterday, along came today.

I am currently reading Pride, Predjudice, and Zombies... and it actually explains a lot of the gaps in the original Jane Austin book!

Re-reading C J Cherryh's Foreigner series. I've just finished the tenth and (to me) newest and I am now considering if I can wait until April 5th when the eleventh will come as paperback or if I should buy it as hardcover .

I might buy her Regenesis and reread Rimrunner, Downbelow Station and Cyteen, but I fear that they won't last until April.

After that it will be "Bloodthirsty" by Marshall Karp

I'm in the process of reading the Sookie Stackhouse Southern Vampire series, the basis for TrueBlood. I just got done with book 5. I'm taking a break from that right now to read The Exorcist I love the movie so much but have never read the book so this could be good.

Just started the "War of the Ancients" trilogy.. Rather good so far. I enjoyed the other WoW books, so why not more?

I need to buy " The Help" for a book club, anyone read that?

Ha, I knew the Nook would be dangerous.

Telecom Goddess -- the books are FAR better than the series, which I just can't get into that much (sorry but Alex S is simply not my idea of Eric ... ) To Cazzi -- another Stand fan!! I read the covers off my paperback copy, ended up investing in a hardcover and have worn that nearly to shreds too!

As for what I'm reading now -- last week I finished the third book in the Valentin St. Cyr series (mysteries set in early 1900's New Orleans' red light district, Storyville) by David Fulmer. Yesterday I finished The Lincoln Lawyer by Michael Connelly (really looking forward to the film now, couldn't put the book down). Not sure what I'll read next -- have a stack of paperbacks my sister gave me, but I'm leaning toward The Enchantment Emporium by Tanya Huff -- her stuff is always worth the read (for those who love vampires, you must read her Blood series, and the sci-fi fans need to check out the Valor series, kick ass female leads in both). I also have a list of books to find either at the library or the bookstore when I have funds and a car again (long story on both ...)

I am reading Jim C. Hines' series, The Princess Novels. I finished The Stepsister Scheme ( http://www.amazon.com/Stepsister-Sch...7449797&sr=8-1 )and The Mermaid's Madness. I'm currently reading Red Hood's Revenge and waiting for The Snow Queen's Shadow to be released in July.

I read those... they are a really imaginative retooling of the clasics. I like that fact that, for once, he gives the poor characters depth and motive.

Just got done reading pretty much every Rick Riordan book that's out. Including the first part of the sequel series to Percy Jackson & The Olympians (The Lost Heroes), and the first book in his new Kane Chronicles series.

About to finish up City of Veils by Zoe Ferraris. It's a murder mystery set in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Interesting to see a whodunit set in a place where the police don't "dunit" the way they do in the US.

Before that, I blew through Frank Tallis's Vienna series. Next up... not sure.
