I have children myself, and not one time are they allowed to go with me unless they have clothes on. Other parents though, I have seen, will bring their infant children with them, plot them into a cart, and the child has nothing on but a diaper. I hope they're leak proof!
I have never taken my son anywhere unless he was decently dressed. Even when he was an infant, even in the worst heat of a Phoenix summer, he always wore at least a onesie or T-shirt and shorts, and got fed and a clean diaper before we left the house. I would be ashamed of myself to let my kid get into the condition of the children in LadyBarbossa's post.

You have to wonder what the hell some of these parents are thinking.

Hell I don't like kids at all and I start to get engraged when I see filthy children who look starved and sick with their well dressed, fashionista mother and gangsta father, wreeking of Liz Claiborne and Puff Daddy eau de toilette!

I remember an old woman in my checkout line almost in tears because the 'lady' in front of her had three children in the cart, all of them wearing no shirts or shoes, and covered in dirt and snot. My Mom would have sooner flown to the moon on a quacking pig than let any of us be seen like that. It's a shame; we have to license our pets, but anyone can have kids.

At the gas station, I saw parents trudging in toddlers who were naked save for their diapers, which were sagging to the floor.

Out and about I see babies in only diapers, kids without shoes, little boys and girls with no shirts on in the summer, etc etc etc....

I never have understood this. Whenever Mom took my brother and I shopping, we always needed to be dressed, meaning wearing a shirt, shorts, and shoes of some kind.

All of my life though, I have shopped at places and even worked at a grocery store during high school, and it never ceased to amaze me with how parents allowed their kids to appear when they did their shopping.

One time, I remember this woman who brought her 7 year old son into the store, and he was riding in the cart. This little boy was wearing literally nothing, except for a pair of shorts. Of course, other parents have brought their children in barefoot, when there was a sign at the entrance clearly stating shoes and shirts were required. I remember this grandmother that came in with her two grandchildren. She was wearing no shoes, and neither were the kids, who looked about five to seven years old.

It's getting so out of hand that the next thing you know, the parents will just tell the kid they can wear their birthday suit when they go out.
