My wife and I saw Avatar at an 11AM show. Luckily, it wasn't crowded and we were the first ones there so we got our choice of seats.
Close to when the movie started (the theater was not packed in fact, no one was in the first third of the theater) a group of people come up to us and tell us we need to move over so they could all sit together (there were empty seats on both sides of us).
Um, we were here early enough to get the seats we wanted so why should we give them up especially when there are plenty of other seats available? I said no, we had gotten there early enough so we could get good seats and were not about to give them up because someone else wants them (plus -the row two rows in front of us was completely empty).
Of course, they went all EW "they all need to sit together", "they need those seats" etc. we point to the rows in front of us that are empty and they said they didn't want to sit there.
We didn't budge.
Of course, they got the management who asked us to move and again we said no. We explained that the theater was empty when we got there so why would we have to give up our seats.
We were told that we should make room for larger groups (um, what?) so I pointed out the empty rows near the front, which of course the group declined.
Again, they insisted that we move and I finally had enough. I told them that if they made us move we would demand a full refund of the tickets plus the better business bureau along with the ADA would hear about it because they made me and my handicapped wife move because someone else wanted our seats. It was their choice.
Of course the management then turned to the other group and told them that they had to sit somewhere else.
Who do these people think they are? Just because you have a group and someone else got to the seats you wanted (because they planned ahead) means you can just push them out of the way? Remind me to try that next time I am at an amusement park. Hey, I want to go on the ride at 3:00 so I feel I can push everyone in line back.
As for the end of the movie - if you buy soda popcorn, snacks, whatever, PICK UP YOUR F***ING TRASH. The floor is NOT the trash bin and they have plenty of them in the hallways. Do you just throw your cans and wrappers when you're one with them on the floor at home? I don't think so - why the the movie theater any different??

I'm not an animal, or a pig, I'm housetrained...I'm not going to go ANYWHERE and leave my trash on the floor. I am going to find a trash bin, thanks.
