Just got back from Wal of green things, having to get my photos for photography class printed. What an....interesting experience it was!
I had gone there an hour before, but both of the kiosks were full, so I left and got a few errands done before coming back. The one old lady who had been sitting was still there and another lady was waiting. She said she had been waiting there for 45 minutes. Turns out, the old lady was printing out 500 pictures in one order, and had 2 more large orders to do. Now, the photo center was open until 10pm, but with all her photos, my pictures wouldn't have gotten done until the next day, which would not have been good, since I needed those for class at 8am the next day. So, when her first order of 500 is finally done, I step up.
Me: duh
old hag: OH
Me: Excuse me, ma'am, I'm sorry to ask, but I need to get these pictures printed for my class tomorrow. I was just wondering if it would be at all possible if I could use the kiosk real quick. It will take me 10 minutes at the most.
OH: *huffs* Well, I have two more orders to do and I need to get these done before my surgery!
Me: *what do you need over a 1000 pictures for before a surgery? Really?* Well, I'm sorry ma'am but it will really only take me 10 minutes and I need them for a class.
OH: *angrily takes out her memory card and grabs her bag* Well, I can't help it if I have surgery!
Me: *internally rolls eyes* Well, I can't help it that my professor made our due date tomorrow. I don't feel like failing my class because someone had to have their vacation photos printed, when they could just do it on their computer.
She gets even more huffy and leaves. I sit down and get my order done in less than five minutes. The photo clerk was laughing the whole time in the back and congratulated me on telling her off, since he couldn't because he liked his job. I told him I was sorry that he had to do 500 or more photos and he said "it's cool. that's what i get paid for."
I'm waiting to see if she'll be there still when I go to pick my order up.
