I have been doing NaNo for years, and have yet to even come close to finishing.

    ^-.-^
I've been doing it for years, and I haven't come close to starting.

Tolly, want to bet some idiot (her, or her lawyer) will claim it was a pre-existing condition, and you had no way to prove she made it worse, therefore she's no liable for anything?
Smile, or I'll smack you silly!

You guys will not believe this.

Her lawyer called me. At ten at night. To ask if I'm willing to drop the charges. Didn't even put an offer on the table.

Guess which four-letter word starting with f I used to tell him no?

Until the bitch pays for my medical bills and the physio I'm gonna have to visit for two weeks, AND agrees to a restraining order, she can just fuck right off.
Called you at 10PM, offered you nothing, and just asked you to forget about it?

What, precisely, was he hoping to accomplish with that call?

If I were you, I'd talk to the DA handling the case and ask if there's a way to prevent the lawyer from calling you any more.

Another high-five from a fellow hopeful author (I've finished two Nanos and one camp nano)! Your wrist must recover in time for the Great Writing....or you can use the speech software.

        ...

        Er, sorry. :P

Funny how she thought you would just drop it.

I'll bet the guy wasn't a lawyer, just one of her "friends" she put up to it.

Or simply one of those cheap lawyers that in truth know nothing. Because who else would be willing to take crazy-woman's case?

Did he even tell you why you should be willing to drop the charges?!

Not that it makes any difference, no way in Hell should you drop the charges. This woman is a menace to society and needs to be put away, and you deserve to be recompensated for her assault on you. Nail their worthless hides to the wall!

Funny thing about having a lawyer for a father, I learned at a very young age to tell when the lawyer is either not a lawyer or fishing for a quite fee. Not entirely sure which one this prat was, but he definitely wasn't on the up and up.

Best thing about all this? I have lots of medical records thanks to my current situation, and the bung wrist was on my record plus there's the whole 'wearing a hot pink bandage you could see from the moon ON CAMERA' thing too. >:3

Good points. Video evidence, eyewitness evidence, medical records...he knows they haven't got a snowball's chance in Hell of getting out of this one unscathed. He was probably her husband posing as a lawyer to try to intimidate you. Too bad for him that you're too savvy to fall for that.

Thanks for keeping us updated. Dear deities, this is crazy! I hope you don't have any permanent damage from this nutjob and that she is charged with everything possible.

O boy. What a cunt. I hope your wrist heals quickly.

Indeed I'd like to hear the updates on this.

I too suspect the lawyer has already called the store... cos it sounds like the crazy bitch still insists you're an employee. However I also suspect the lawyer knows his client doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of coming out of this without a conviction & possible sentence.

I think this thread is worthy for this gif.

                            *hands out bags of popcorn*

Glad your wrist hasn't received worse damage. Is there a court date set and will the manager be a witness?

I've had people almost mistake me for an employee but it never got very far. So it really baffles me when seeing these stories where it goes further and they get so offended or even violent.

I'm curious, when the cops arrived to cuff her, did she scream that she would sue?

I was wondering if you could get the video from your previous incidents with this woman (the fact that, technically, she's manhandled you before), and the manager involved saying that this woman has basically targeted you after being told twice you are NOT an employee.

A call at 10 at night from a 'lawyer'....fishy. I've personally seen a lawyer do worse that; left the law firm that's representing people in a huge case to become partner in another one. He then sent letters (on his old law firms' letterhead) to all the people being represented by his old law firm, telling them HE was their lawyer, he'd moved to a new office, and to sign this form so he could 'continue' to represent them. 3-pages in is when he disclosed he was actually with a new firm, but so many people were used to getting mail from the law firm he used to work for that they signed without blinking, effectively firing their law firm who had put 4+ years of work into their case! I was one who got a letter, but his old law firm had already called me to put out the alert on this guy, not to mention HE had never talked to any of the clients in all that time, and I just tore up the paperwork; though I wanted to send it back with a big 'F*ck You' in the signature line

My muse has usually been silent by the time NaNo comes around, but this year it's been active since August and doesn't show signs of stopping much so I might be able to make it.

(Since August I've pumped out 6 15k to 25k stories, though they're really just continuations of eachother. The 7th is currently at 15k and 2 sections left to go).

As for the OP, gratz on putting that crazy in her place; hope your wrist gets better soon and hope you can get everything you can from the crazy.
