You use dice as sex toys?

    ...

    Kinky.

Back in my retail days, it always amused me when customers would, after asking for an obscure item that we would never ever carry, say, "Well, you should carry it!!"

Riiiiight, just in case you come back?

Back in the day, a fellow came into the battery store looking for lunch meat.

However, to be fair, he had been drinking quite heavily (Bourbon, it's what's for dinner!) and seemed confused about, well, everything really.

I swear, they complained everyday because heaven forbid someone said "hola" or something else in spanish. I always just nodded and smiled....having someone speak to me in another language is not a crime, and it didn't hurt me any...so what's the big deal?
I say "hola", I'm in western MA, and the only "non-white" in my background is some Cherokee waaaaaayyyy back. I think Spain and Portugal are the only European countries not found in my family tree. I'm just strange. Drives my OC aunt crazy(-ier).

The one language complaint I will make, and they've since fixed this, is the Winco foods in Reno used to have products with signs and labels ONLY in spanish... now I have no problem with dual language because there is a bilingual clientelle... but not having english on the signs at all is taking it a bit too far, thank you.
meh, I shop in foreign groceries a lot, and I don't mind dealing with having to learn to recognize the packaging of what I need. If I am looking for something new, I just ask one of the clerks to show me the correct item, then in the future Ill know what to buy. Although I do recognize a lot of herbs/spices/fruits/veggies by look and smell by now =)

And it is great when I have houseguests that like to rummage and use expensive ingredients ... they dont know how expensive the package of birds nests actually *is*, so they dont just randomly toss it in the pot of 'garbage' soup they are making [family term, using up leftovers to make soup with. Although I have no idea why my brother thought bologna was a great idea for a soup ingredient...]

Why am I getting some wacky mental image of someone using Uncle Ben's rice in a way that shouldn't even be thought of?
    Oh, now that's just wrong!

It's called a turkey baster. You might wanna show him the difference at some point. Sounds like the poor soul's confused.

Have you ever been working somewhere and have people ask you for things you clearly do not sell?
I was once asked, while working at a big box electronics store, if we sold paper plates and napkins.

Well, apparently my boyfriend thinks that supermarkets sell sex toys!

His retort the other night as we were bickering:

"Well, I'm going to go to the supermarket and buy one of those 12 inch dildos and shove it up your ass!"
