You know, I've actually had the occasional person act shocked over people using the toilet when I worked at Kinko's, and also at the Olive Garden. My standard response that never failed to bring the person back down to earth:

Idiot: Where's (the guy running my order/my waiter/etc)???

Me: Oh, they'll be back, they just ran to the restroom....

Idiot: What? What are they doing in the restroom????

Me: (thoughtful pause, hard look over my spectacles). Do you...particularly want me to tell you?

Idiot: No! No, it's cool.

But seriously, Taco Bell is where you eat if you want a legitimate reason to call in sick for work.
