So feeling depressed right now. Found out from the semi okay neighbors that they knew all about the ass leaving. What they hadn't known was that he was leaving me with no power. He apparently made it sound all cool to them cause I "totally bought his couches and took over his lease even covering the back rent".

Now I have a bit of a conundrum do I pay the 440 (total rent due every month is 880) I owe in rent this Friday to the office or since he abandoned me with no power and no way to get power do I just say screw it to the rent?

That's just it...I'm NOT on the lease. Technically I don't live ANYWHERE.

Still talk to the office. My friend had her bf walk out on her. They worked with her and got her into a studio rather than deal with a trashed apartment.

I've been talking to the office which puts me in this limbo right now. Looking back to the first or second post I was supposed to move into another apartment. That got pulled away cause "computer said no" and then it was "maybe e can work a deal, now it's "lets wait on corporate".

Office isn't calling me back, not even taking my calls right now. Head office isn't responding to my emails. Just for off the phone with a really ugly thing that I got into when I was trying to save my old place from being taken away.

Very much depressed right now. Kinda working in a fog right now.

Can't think of something positive to say atm, but DO know we're out here, concerned for, and rooting for, you.

(Well, I DID think of something positive, but it was a rework of the NYC PO's motto, playing off your 'working in a fog' phrase, and I thought it was kinda stupid, so you get the above instead. )

*hugs* I hope things turn around for you. All I can say is if you can make it to Ohio, I can put you up for awhile..if you can stand the parents that is.

If you aren't on the lease and therefore technically don't live in the apartment... they can't evict you for non-payment of rent. I think. So you might consider using the money to see about getting the power back on and go from there. Not a long-term solution... at some point you will end up getting turfed out, but without a lease that would happen anyway. And at least you will have power in the meanwhile.
There's no such thing as a stupid question... just stupid people.

I can't get the power turned on. I'm not on the account or the lease and with these complexes the power company needs to have a call from the office or see a copy if the lease.

I think I just have to face it. The computer is right, I'm worthless and not good enough for them. I've called so many places, talked to so many people...and it's really all for nothing. I'm just something to play with for a bit and then be thrown away.

I know your probably getting sick of me and this constant depression I go through...

But from advice from a friend I paid my 440 portion of the rent today. I really didn't want to. I could just place every one of those dollars going elsewhere. But it wouldn't have been right for me not to pay.

                        So yea...for what it's worth...

So I don't know if anyone is still reading this after my partial melt down but I think someone has been in my room.

I can't find the deodorant I used this morning at all and one of my work shirt that had been folded neatly is caked with the stuff in the buttons.

I also can't find the scale I used this morning. And my seat was down in the bathroom.

                          Maybe I'm just going crazy.

Are you alone in the flat or still sharing it with someone?

Could the landlord have been in to do something and decided to screw with you or would your roomie screw with you like that? Who else has keys?

So I just got this in a email...

                                Ms. ******,

I have reviewed all of your past rental history as well as speaking with the property to see what you were able to do. The only way we are able to rent a unit to you is if you can do one of the following options:

*Pay your first and last month rent up front. Your last month rent will act as a credit throughout your lease term and is to only be used for your last month, no other month.

*Have a qualified guarantor that is able to pass our requirements.

Unfortunately if you are unable to meet the above requirements we are unable to lease a unit to you. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

                                Thank you,

                                J****** R****
