MS here -- sub-freezing overnight and still under 40F daytime the past couple of days....but no cloud dandruff. ~_~ Just lots and lots and lots of damn cold rain.

I had the ick all day, myself. Between that and my nieces borrowing my mouse for a couple of days (not that I need it 8p) I've been spending quite a lot of time catching up on the exploits of the Minbari and other, lesser species

And today it was nice and sunny...no rain in sight.

Watch me fly interstate and have it rain tomorrow (the forecast is stating rain, but it's a nice 27C at least!)

Yesterday started out picture perfect, like the day before, sunny and 80. But while I was working, it got windy and the temps plummeted to 63, which doesn't sound cold, I know, but when it's windy and that wind is coming off the Atlantic, it can be surprisingly cold. My friend, who is visiting from New Jersey, thought it was cold enough for a sweatshirt or more, and she's not exactly spoiled from living down here, so it's not just us.

Just thinking about that makes me want to go back. Probably will in March, if all goes well.
Be advised, Spring Break can be....interesting here. On the plus side, the eye candy is lovely. On the negative side, they and all their douchey male counterparts are dumber than a box of rocks. Also, hotel availability can be limited, so look into it early.

My parents live just south of Buffalo. From 6PM Monday to 11AM today, the got between 36 and 40 inches of snow, with another 28-36 inches predicted for today.
Apparently a women's college basketball team from Niagara U. got trapped in their bus in the snow on the interstate for 24 hours or more....they may still be there. They were sending pics and maybe even video to ESPN and whatnot. Also,I happened to glance at the Buffalo Sabres game, and they listed the inactive players, a couple from injury, but one from "snowed in." Same game, they had no one to do the national anthem, for probably the same reason, so they were having the organist handle such duties.

Make fun of me all you want, I'll stick to my palm trees and thinking that low 60s and windy is cold, thank you very much.

Yup, everything south of Clinton Street got hammered. I live in the northern part of town, we only had about an inch or so. It's icy though.
I used to live two blocks south of Kenmore Avenue. I'm guessing my old neighborhood didn't get much.

This afternoon my mom called me out of the blue and said "I am so glad you don't live in Buffalo anymore! I'd be so worried about you."

Trivia question for Jester (anybody else is free to guess too): Which state in the U.S. did not have at least one location with below-freezing temperatures yesterday?

Last night's temps reached around 22 degrees, I was under three blankets. Funny thing is, I still only sleep in shorts and a sports bra, for some reason I'm comfy.
Eh, one day I'll have something useful here. Until then, have a cookie or two.

I'm gonna guess Florida, though of course it's always possible that it was Hawaiia or Arizona or Nevada. But I'll stick to my initial guess: Florida.

Nope on all counts. Actually I was misleading you with the question - the news report I heard said that below freezing temperatures had been reported in 50 states. I assume that with HI, it was on a mountain peak.

Hawaii, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, Marshall Islands and Guam.

I posted a whinge about it in my facebook yesterday when some newsmoron claimed that *every* state froze. I added the territories to be snotty.

Last year I remember seeing something (possibly here?) about one day when 49 states had at least a trace of snow (FL was the exception - again, HI was probably a mountain top). Would have been REALLY ironic if AK had been the exception.

From a weather thread on another board I frequent:
I'm in the Tampa Bay, FL area.
We currently are under a long sleeves, and closed toe shoes w/socks advisory.

Yeah, I'm only a few blocks south of there myself and we had maybe 6 to 8 inches. Southtowns got hammered all over again today though. The photos are unbelievable. I think they're on track to beat the winter of 2001 when we had 7 ft of snow. Most of my co-workers are still snowed in. Only two of us on the phones again for the third day in a row. But I'm off tomorrow! They'll have to manage without me!!

Jester, the basketball team got rescued. A lot of folks got stuck on the thruway, but I think they're all out now.

It was so cold today I wore socks with my birkenstock sandals.

Yes I do that. No I don't apologize.
Pretty sure I've seen it in person. Probably rolled my eyes inwardly.

I'm waiting for word from dispatch as to whether I'll be getting a particular load. Normally it would cross at Buffalo, but the weather has that shut down, along with I90 to PA. Going via Detroit would add around 100 miles, and it depends on whether the customer is willing to pay the extra mileage whether the load goes this weekend or whether it waits until the road is passable.

When it stops snowing on Saturday it`s supposed to rain for 2 days straight. Not that unusual for November, but we already have about 3`of snow, this is going to be sloppy as anything driving next week, and the kids have already had 4 snow days this year (and our work has had one). It`s still November!
