I finished my first playthrough of Borderlands tonight... and immediately began my second!

Upon beginning the second playthrough, I decided to play around a little more with the Eridian weapons I had picked up on the first playthrough, especially the 10101 Cannon I picked up after offing Major Master McCocksucker (note: not his actual in-game name.) I finally found a good use for that thing and its slow-moving "ball lightning" shots: the raiders you encounter early in the game do not like it AT ALL! One-hit kills... on raiders that are at Level 32 (or thereabouts)!

Have I mentioned that this game's addictive as hell?

But upgraded, even nastier skags are NOT happiness. And I am NOT looking forward to seeing how much nastier the frakkin' spiderants get on the second playthrough.

Yes. But not because of this.

Played Bayonetta for a little over 5 hours so far, I'm probably about halfway through story mode, and I gotta say—I'm not hooked. I've only got it for a week, and I still managed to not play it at all last night.

Now 12. I pre-ordered it for the PC, since I bought Dragon Age: Origins for the PC and I want the special armor. But now I'm kinda wishing I'd gone for the Xbox 360 version so I can use my old characters.
That's the reason I got it for Xbox 360...moving my old characters and continuing play with them. That, and 46" big screen

Hmm, lately I've been playing WoW (Argent Dawn server, if anyone else is on there) and the Penny Arcade RPGs, and the Professor Layton games on my DS (very good for subway commutes!)

Used to play D&D, but it just hasn't been the same since my group moved away. We've tried playing online for a while which would be fine and dandy except that people AFK from voice chat without telling us, and then we're stuck sitting around indefinitely for them to get back and finish their turn. Ugh. I think I need to find new local players, haha!

At any rate, I hope it's just as good as the first one. Might help to take my mind off of how crappy my life is in other areas.

Wow, missed this thread for a long time, somehow. But I play D&D 3.5 (specifically the Pathfinder variant) and Shadowrun 3rd. I've tried a few WoD games, but none of them ever really clicked with me, and Silver Age Sentinels d20, but that's not as frequent as the first two.

I used to have a solid live group before college, but while I'm trying to get one back together from my coworkers, I'm mostly playing online now.

does anyonle play D+D or Shadowrun through IM or any of the web-based systems. Some friends and I are looking for a way to play shadowrun together.
Some of my friends (though mainly Kheldarson) and I play via Skype, AIM, and a small forum, or even IRC at times; but things have been kinda dead lately thanks to everyone having school and/or work.

Maybe someone ought to start a thread for people trying to find games...

My friends and I have recently decided to do a completely randomized character game of D&D 4e. I'm going to DM, and each of them is going to roll a d4 for their party role, then a d4 for power source, then a d% for race using a table I made based on populations in my world. Finally, they get to chose one stat to start at 18, and then they roll the rest 5d6, in order. I intend to make them need those 5d6 stats.

We just thought it was an interesting idea, making the guys come up with concepts around the stats, instead of letting them pick a concept out of the air. So, now I'm working on hammering out pamphlets on the various racial cultures and governments by saturday for my players. I'm just glad to have the backstory and a general idea of the plot down, since most of the first meeting will be character creation.

    Well done.

That's the kind of story you tell over and over . . . It's what gamers live for!

I'm in 2 active "PnP" games now, though we play on IRC. One started as DnD3.5, but we shifted it over to Mutants and Masterminds. The other one started as M&M.
I just have to brag: In my weekly AD&D (2nd edition) my Thief did a 96 point backstab.

How? Easy, 3x backstab bonus, plus a natural 20 which in our house rules, doubles damage, as well as a decent damage roll to begin with, and a girdle of ogre power (18/00 strength)

    One dead Fire Giant.

Will trying out Star Trek Online. EVE on the other hand, you needed a PHD to understand the mess that passes for its interface.
Don't let something like the interface scare you away, it's actually not as tough as it looks. The pvp on the other hand is quite tough.

D&D is something I get the urge to get back into every now and then. The friends I used to play with are the same way, but real life keeps getting in the way.

I don't know why it is, but I don't really like the M&M system. My GM loves it, but I just can't get my mind wrapped around it and every time I feel like I almost get it, it slips out of my grasp. But I just can't get a feel for what the numbers equate to when I put them down so I can't tell if what I've spent them on is what I want to have spent them on.

So now I just rely on the GM to keep the sheets updated, and ask him if I can do a certain thing when it comes up. It works out well enough considering that while I don't know how to get the numbers down, I do have a decent idea of what my guys can and probably won't be able to do, and what I want them to be able to do eventually.
