    Sheesh, that almost makes "My Immortal" look like decent writing.
    Nothing can make "My Immortal" look good. NOTHING.

    It hurts my feelings, really it does. I just looked at the site with quotes from the book. That got published, and I can't find a damn agent? I'm a better writer than she is, and that's not being snobbish, it's the truth.

    But I figure if something is that popular, there must be something that attracts people to it. I suppose in this case it's this Edward guy- he's like OMGsohotandsensitiveandanassholetoboot! !!111!!

      I agree Ana, you're a far better writer then Stephanie Meyers. But they, I'm trying to get published too. I think I suck but The SO think's I have a good thing going (and that's really saying something!) so I'm trying. Oh so hard....

        From what I've heard, I don't think I'll go anywhere near that series.

        I even managed to avoid reading the Harry Potter series.

          I will admit, I read all but the last Harry Potter book. It's an okay book, not something I would read over and over though.

            I had an English teacher who forced us to read Jane Eyre and a similar Harlequin romance, and explain why one was classic and the other smut.

            I've never been able to look at a romace book the same ever again. IMO, the first Twilight book (the only one I've read) is a Harlequin look-alike and I have similar opinions on both.

              Hey! Thanks EQ for the words of encouragement! I think I'll go and start re-writing the story now.

              Maybe we should all get together and write the ultimate vampire novel and see if it gets published then?

                But yeah, I'll bet if we all wrote a crappy YA Vampire Novel we'd all be rich millionaires. Agents would be cat fighting to be able to sell our books for us.

                      Iron Man, however... that rocked hardcore. But that's a comic book.

                            I borrowed the books from a friend because I didn't have another book lined up to read at the moment. I sorta-kinda like parts of certain books, but that may be because I'm 19.

                            However, the 4th book? WTF was she thinking with Renesseme? I could barely finish that one.

                            Also, the whole invulnerable to mind powers (Edward) thing? Alice and Jasper had mind-related powers. Why was she not invulnerable to them? And she was invulnerable to that little twin girl who was one of the Volturi guards. That was a physical power which should have affected her!

                            On second thought, maybe I didn't enjoy the series as much as I thought.




                            [EDIT] On more thing- vampires should not be glittery!

                            ...... yeah, I'm really starting to not like the books now.

                              Actually, almost all of the comic-to-bigscreen stuff this past year was excellet. Iron Man, the new Hulk movie (Which actually produced an ad that started, and I quote: 'Want to see a hulk movie that doesn't suck?"), The Dark Knight, etc. All of them have been pretty good.

                              Max Payne, the video game adaptation, wasn't bad, but it was mediocre in an annoying way, where many of the video game adaptations (Here I'm thinking Doom) have been mediocre in a funny way...

                                Heh...the last take on vampires that i saw on the big screen was spectacular *cough*underworld*cough*...but as soon as I heard the age of the vamps in this story, any desire to see it evaporated.

                                ...and seriously, vampires who go all SPARKLY during the sunlight!?
