  • I decided to start to make a concerted effort at this weight loss job.

Day off today so i did the hill outside my house 3 times. I live at the top, I work at the bottom. Door to door is dead on half a mile. Did down and up 3 times. Averaging 8 minutes down and 11 back up. Did i mention that the gradient of said hill is technically described as "Chuffing Steep."

I was just walking briskly rather than jogging but from little acorns adn all that.

    • Three times for me, 576 calories, 177 pulse max, with some running in there (it will build up, Boggles - just push yourself gradually - took me four months to get to this stage).

Pressures of time denied me the fourth go.

      • Been a while since I posted here, but I've been better lately about keeping up with my walking; an MP3 player really, really helps. I'd have gotten one long ago if I knew it'd be this great. I find having music I like distracts me from my own huffing and puffing and something upbeat keeps me going.

I've gotten myself up to brisk walking for about an hour a day, sometimes an hour and a half if I've missed a day or if I think it'll rain the following day. Yesterday was the first time I'd gone in about a week due to rainy weather, but I was pleased to see that I had no problem resuming it, and it took me longer to get winded and start sweating than usual. I can even jog in little intervals now, and some of my shirts are already starting to feel looser. Yay!

        • Four times, not so much running as it's beating the crap out of my knees badly, 713 calories, 57 minutes. Hmm - it's slightly faster without the running?

          • I went to Chuck E. Cheese today for lunch.

I ate from the all-you-can-eat salad bar.

Then for about an hour I played games. I mainly played skee ball. I found I can shoot a basketball at a moving net.

            • smart choices, Rummy, way to go!

Er...this last week was the "I desparately hate being female, make it stop!" week for me. For the second time in 3 weeks. (MUST get back on my meds soon!!!!)

So, yeah, diet consisted of eating whatever I craved, and it wasn't always good. last night, I had every intention of making shrimp and tomato pasta. Had spoon in hand to stir sauce once it was in the pot. Opened the freezer to get the shrimp out.

Aaaaaaand, next thing I know, I ate an entire tub of cool whip free. For dinner.

Didn't really work out, either. And yet, when I weighed in and measured this morning, I lost 2.2 lbs. Not complaining, but meh. I'm going to get back on the wagon starting tomorrow-ish. Wake up and start my morning walk, followed by some weight exercises, followed by yoga, now that I'm not in excruciating, want-to-dig-out-my-organs-with-a-rusty-shovel pain.

The doc said all of my tests came back perfect.

He said I was very healthy

                • Gave it a rest the last couple of days. Partly due to time constraints, but mostly to give my joints some rest. Will be back on it on the morrow.

Just wish I was eating less...

                  • Last two days I have been doing 20 minutes of cardio as soon as I get up

                    300 and 305 calories respectively.

Im down 20lbs now and I cut my body fat % by just over 5%

                    • I've been taking it easy due to slightly crimped foot and general joint aches. Am intending some crunches again tonight, especially as I bought some jans that now fit - roughly six inches less around the waist. Even the guy who sold them to me noticed I'd lost weight, though I was wearing the older, baggier ones, and he recognised those more than he recognised me, I fear.

                      • First time on the hill in a week. Been stiffening up when sat down for a while (been in the warehouse most of the week). Joints been playing up. 59 minutes, 657 calories, no running, max pulse 161. Good bit of breeze to help cool me down.

                        So, where's everyone else?

                          • *waves* I just want to say that DH and I have been walking pretty regularly for 2 weeks now. Sadly I've had to take off a few days due to a nice little hairline/stress fracture in my big toe.

Still, we feel a lot better!!
Today was going to be just one of those days...you know, full of zombies.

                              • Weighed myself in today, I have officially lost 15.2 lbs since starting this whole lifestyle change. I'm quite happy with myself! I can take most of my pants off and on without having to unbutton them!

I've been kind of slacking off on the exercise, though, so I need to get back into it. I'm thinking of sucking it in and finally going to the gym on campus. I pay student fees for access every semester, might as well make use of it, right?
