Nope, faster means harder. Calorie burn is a function of distance, not time. You should theoretically burn the same number of calories covering the same distance each time, no matter how you do it. Eg walking will burn less per minute, but you take much longer than running.
I saw on an earlier post you're using ankle weights? Best way to add weight for cardio is a weighted vest or backpack. Keeps it close to your centre of gravity, lessens the chance of spraining a joint by placing a different force on it than it's used to or designed for.
They say as you get better at an activity you burn less doing it. I don't think it's much, though.
Keep it up though! 900 calories is a GREAT workout
I don't think chocolate for breakfast is a good choice though, is it? (me)
Its great to see another regular, keep up the good work One-Fang!
I would say chocolate was a great breakfast - although maybe on Christmas morning or your birthday, other than that you might want to stick to cereal or toast
your lucky, you can get weetbix, I have to resort to my mum sending me a supply and/or carting an entire suitcase of food back with me every time I fly!
another day, another workout for me, I'm not seeing much result on the scale so much as in my measurements, my waist has seriously decreased which is good because the last 10kgs of my weight gain seemed to only be in my tummy region which is NOT good for an hour glass figure!
I increased to 625 calories today and still managed to do it in 51 minutes 30 seconds! tomorrow I will be going to 650.

Only done the ankle weight thing once. It added about fifteen calories...
The thing about doing it faster is that my heart rate peak is lower than the first-time max, but it's there for less time as well, which I think is how it's measured. It calculates my calorie burn based on pulse rate, height, and weight.
My feet are feeling it now, though. A day in the warehouse is really killing them, and I have another day in there tomorrow. Just wish I hadn't eaten as damned much as I did.
Only 40 minutes on the elliptical tonight and no lifting/machines. Getting sick backslid me a little workout-wise and I haven't quite as vigilant in my eating selections so I need to snap back into it! I'm still tired from whatever bug I had last week, hopefully the workouts will bring some energy back.
Week before last, I could do the 90-second increments of jogging and walking with no problem, but this week (after a week off for being lazy), I couldn't do it. I got to the second rep of 90 seconds, and started feeling sick. I have no idea why. I never get motion sickness and always wait an hour after dinner before going to the gym. It just seemed a lot hotter there or something.
I ended up walking the rest of the time. Got a little over 2 miles in half an hour. I'll probably go back everyday to at least walk 30 minutes.

Hang in there girls. Just keep trying. Reyneth you'll get back to where you were. Your body just needs some time off. That's okay. Healing comes first. HFP maybe go back one step in whatever program you're doing and take it from there?
Really? Find another program. Couch to 5K starts at 30 seconds on.
I set some baselines yesterday. Went on a bike ride over a nearby hilly road. 42 Minutes from home to a set point I can compare with. And then got up the neary hill climb road to number 20's letterbox.
625 cals in 49 minutes 10 seconds (I did 200 in 14 minutes 10 seconds this time YAY)
I'm really starting to notice positive effects in other areas of life
My skin has really started to clear up, I don't know if that's because I'm sucking down more water or what but hey I'll take it either way!
I'm sleep MUCH deeper and waking up much faster. I'm still not a morning person by any stretch but I no longer feel/look/act like the creature from the black lagoon emerging from the deep.
My energy levels have SKY rockected in the last two weeks, I almost feel as if I have woken up from a sugar induced coma. I'm standing for longer periods of time (Ive always had trouble standing for long periods without really bad pain in my feet) the other day at a part I stood on a wooden floor with no shoes for at least an hour and my feet lasted a good 45 minutes of that! I'm walking around much more, I seem to have a much clearer head, I don't feel so dopey.
I think thats in part because Im craving healthier foods, strawberries and cantaloupe at the top of the list, water melon (we cant get it here yet but I WANT it) and steak rather than craving chips and chocolate and diet coke. Okay to be fair I still crave diet coke, I don't think I will ever break that habit.
and there are other more... adult side effects, I seem to be much more...um "frisky" than I was
I also seem much happier and relaxed (or so people have told me), I'm guessing that's because I'm really proud of myself for getting off my butt get day!
So in the attempt to read this entire thread, I was wondering, does anyone else here hoop dance? It's a great work out and man you can feel it once you start doing different tricks.
Whew. I did start back at the first week (run 60 seconds, walk 90 seconds), but tacked on another 5 minutes. So I got up to about 2.12 miles in 25 minutes.
I'm also going to try and cut down on my portions at dinner. If I half the meat and bread I normally eat, I can probably lose a couple lbs. Keep in mind I'll normally eat a full half-breast of chicken and 2 rolls along with a full potato and broccoli.
I still need to cut back on the candy at work, though. *pout*
But I will try to get to the gym at least every weekday. Dammit, I will NOT buy new pants!
